Does anyone have a pediatric practice that they love, that has experience treating sensory kids? My nine year old is orally defensive and has an extreme phobia about strep tests. We had a horrible experience this past week at our pediatrician's office, both with his fear and the doctor's extreme coldness and lack of compassion about his fear, "Are you going to let him tell you what he will and will not do?" Cannot go through this again!

I am not sure if my doctor has any special experience with children with sensory issues, but I love my ped office: Cumming Pediatrics. Dr. Kohn is my favorite (female in her late 30s) and she is very patient and touchy feely. There is one dr there that is not my favorit b/c he is cold sometimes, but I just don't see him unless I absolutely have to. ###-###-####

Let me just say that you should try Roswell Pediatrics. They have 2 offices one in Alpharetta & one in Cumming. Alpharetta #is ###-###-#### Cumming #is ###-###-####. I really hope you give them a try. If you can, ask for Dr. Robert Burnham. I am a 24 yr old stay at home mom and Dr. Burnham was my pediatrician as a child from 5 to 19 (at that age he made me get an adult doctor)and he is now my sons and daughters doctor. Also he is my little bother and sisters pediatrician. He has been the most amazing doctor. He has 5 children of his own and is an all around great guy. Hi there! I go to Children's Medical Group in Johns Creek. I have 3 children 7, 4, and 3. Each with fears and health issues. My youngest daughter has sensory integration disorder as well. Everyone in the practice is awesome. There is one nurse practitioner named Nancy who is no good. I see Christine Furr but I have seen almost all of the other doctors in the practice and they are great. the nurses are also fantastic. Their number is ###-###-####.
