Rather than moving the phone jacks, it may be cheaper to buy a set of cordless phones. You can pick up cordless systems at Best Buy for under $100. Only one phone needs to be plugged into a phone jack. The others just need to have the chargers plugged into an electrical outlet. We have an older home with limited phone jacks, so we have a set by AT&T bought at Best Buy. It came with a base unit that has an answering machine, plugs into the phone jack, and also charges one phone. It also came with 3 additional chargers and 3 additional handsets. It works great! It's the newer 6.0 mHz system and doesn't interfere at all with our wireless network, which some of our other cordless phones used to do.
As for the other odd jobs, you can check to see if some of your neighbors, other moms, or people at church know someone who would do it. A talented HS or college student should be able to handle it or maybe a retired person.
