We just purchased the Evenflo Titan 5. We chose it because it was Consumer Reports Best Buy. We literally just purchased it so we haven't even used it yet. Her first ride will be tomorrow! Here is the link to the consumer reports ratings: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/babies-kids/child-car-...

I wouldn't get the Britax. It's way too expensive and there are other car seats that are just as safe. We went with the Evenflo Triumph 5 after exhaustive Consumer Report research and opinion seeking from friends. It's rated just a tiny hair below the Britax but is a LOT cheaper. It's very easy to use too.

How much is your budget for one? She will still be rear facing, right? Even though it is a bit pricey (so so worth it) I would go for a Britax Marathon! I have one, and would not trade it for anything in the world. Get them for $240 shipped at http://forums.delphiforums.com/Carseats/start also, if you can not do the Marathon, they will have some excellent advice for you on this board on which seat to get! That forum is full of really intelligent, helpful, friendly certified carseat technicians. You can register for free to post. See you there! My login name is C. (Free2fly24)

I would highly recommend Britax Marathon. It is expensive but well worth it. Your child can remain in the rear-facing position up to 33 lbs which is the safest position for a child. Also, the seat holds I believe up to 60 lbs. I was in a serious car accident, rollover, when she was 2 months and nothing happened to her. We had a Graco Snugride which I really liked. I did a lot of research after my accident and we purchased the Britax. 1)it exceeds U.S safety standards 2) it is a convertible car seat so you will use it for a long while 3) the fact that she can be in the rear-facing position for longer than the standard year. My daughter really likes the seat and she looks really confortable. It was easy to install if you have the latch system.
