Need Recommendation for a Double Stroller

Phil and Ted is the BEST! WORTH every penny!!!! Had a sit n stand brand new used a few times and sold it to buy a Phil n Ted. Soooooo worth it!_

I have a Babytrend sit n stand LX - it has a snap on seat that covers the back seat so that two little ones can sit in it. When my daughter was an infant I placed her carseat in the back seat facing front. I didn't like using the bar that fit in the front seat that the car seat snapped onto - I felt it made the stroller too long, and I didn't like having the baby that far from me. That said, using it the way I did worked great! I still use it, kids are 4 & 2.5 years now. I have taken it EVERYWHERE with me in the last 2.5 years. Football games, basketball games, baseball games, zoo, shopping, walks around the lake, to the park, to the beach, you name it, it's been there. Good luck, a double stroller is definitely a life-saver with two that close in age.

I found myself in the same deilema not too long ago. I think I researched and read reviews about double strollers for a month or two before I decided on one. It was really really tough. I have a 19 month old and a 2 month old. I almost ordered online, but it was either too expensive or I was afraid of not liking what I purchased. What made up my mind was my own 19 month old son. He is tall for his age, and most of the double stadium type strollers had canopies that make him hunch in his seat. He is very very active and the sit and stand are out of question. I gave up on ordering online and took my son and baby to each and every store. I put them both in the each stroller and took it for a spin. I also would fold it down and lift it, to see how heavy it was. I tried to picture my son at an older age and wondered if he would still fit. I also placed my diaper bag coat an other baby items in the storage area to see if they fit. Anyways, Graco duoglider wasent my first choice,but he was too tall for the others. As far as the car seat fitting in to the stroller. Don't believe them. Not all fit and if they do, make sure it is safe. I ended up buying a new car seat, but i Needed a new one anyways, which i also tried it out with my infant and was allowed to fit it in car.Overall I love it and glad had my kids with me to try it out, otherwise my son would have been miserable. Pros:
It is really easy to maneuver (even on grass)
The seats come out and you can arrange them to either face you or face out, or face eachother
It comes with 2 seats and one infant seat option (I have a Graco Snugride - and it fits)
Each seat has its own umbrella
Each seat can recline
There is a big basket for storing
2 cup holders for the parents (no cup holders for the kiddos)

Cons:
It is VERY big when folded up. If you don't have a large trunk this probably isn't the best option.
It is heavy to take in and out of car
We just got it so I'm not sure (didn't read the manual yet, just kind of figured it out) I think you have to take the seats off to fold up. Which isn't that big of a deal, unless it is raining or something - just takes more time to fold up.

Overall, I really like it. The size and weight aren't that big of a deal to me. It is soooo much better than the last double stroller we had.

I have the Phil & Teds and it is great because it is more or less the same size as a single even when you have the doubler kit on. It is expensive, though. I bought it with kiddo 1 knowing that we were planning for 2. The base stroller was about the same price as a quality single jogging stroller from any other brand. Adding on the doubler kit was like $80, so a huge cost savings in the end vesus buying one then getting a second double one. The quality is amazing. Mine looks like new. I use it all the time for walks on rough ground (our neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks and I use it sometimes for better improved trails too).

That's so funny, I have a Bumbleride double and I love it. It saved the day for me when I couldn't figure out how to get out of the house otherwise! They are big and bulky, but to me ALL double strollers are big and bulky. And with two kids under two, there's not really much about going out that isn't big and bulky! =)

As long as you don't use the cupholder it maneuvers great and fits through normal doors. I take it everywhere and can also use it as a jogger. I give it two thumbs up.

My son is now 2.5 and still has plenty of room in it. I also love the way it looks. Wish they were cheaper, but I feel like we'll get a lot of use out of it since we still would like more children.

Hi, I have two boys 15 months apart (now 3.5 and 4.75). I got a Graco duo-glide (front-back) stroller and used it for a couple of years. I liked it because the car seat clicked in and out, it was narrow and when folded up I could fit it in the trunk of a honda civic. But as the kids got a little heavier it got harder and harder to push.

About 1.5 years ago I got a Bob Duallie jogging stroller and LOVE it! It is side by side (so no kicking the seat in front, lol) and even though it is a side by side it is narrow enough to fit through a standard size front door with kids in it. Features I like include the swivel front wheel, shocks, and individual sun shades with great coverage, and at 7 months pregnant with #3 I can still load it into the mini van without assistance (not too heavy). The biggest downside is the price, but if you can afford it, it is a great stroller and will last a long time (my boys still fit in it just fine).

I love my Graco double stroller...so nice that the back seat fits a Graco infant seat..was super handy when my baby was born and I had a 2 year old. Super easy fold down and while a little heavy (40lbs) I could still life it into the back of the car by myself.

I've had two Combi side-by-side double strollers and have absolutely LOVED them. They are super lightweight and not hard to maneuver in stores at all...they fit through every doorway just fine. I definitely prefer the side-by-side to a front-back...I'm pretty sure the kid who would ride in the back would too :-)

I love the graco duoglider. I have had it since my son was born and he will be 3 in less than 2 weeks. Now using it for him and my 5 week old daughter. Love that the carseat works with it (one reason I think you should stick with it since you already have one). Love that it is so easy to push and turn and fits easily in our trunk. I have pushed it through snow, gravel, dirt, mud, and never gotten stuck or had a problem! I have found it pretty easy to get through aisles and clothing racks, have to go into the handicap stalls and changing rooms obviously like any double.... pretty thin so it gets through doors well and if need be you can go along side it to push the door open and push the stroller through. The only thing i have ever disliked about this stroller is you cant really wash most of it and for me that stinks because I have 2 messy boys and live in alaska so snow makes it wet...dirt sticks to wet lol. Oh...one more con HUGE basket underneath fits loads of stuff BUT not accessible when car seat is in back seat.

I have two friends with the Phil and Ted and they both LOVE it. It's nice because you don't HAVE to use both pieces... and even with two seats, it has the same footprint as a single stroller. You'd think it would be cramped, but my one friend's kids are 4 and 2 1/2 and they both still ride comfortably. The other regularly pushes her 4 year old and 9 month old.

I have the double BOB stroller which is side by side, not front and back, but it manoeuvers really well through stores, actually, and I find it much easier to get through doors, etc., by myself than the Graco stroller I used to have with my first because the BOB is just so light and turns so easily and doesn't need a lot of room to turn. The only thing is that it takes up a lot of room in the car, but I'm assuming most double strollers do (except the used Combi we bought for $30 at a used baby sale recently). We also like our Combi, but not as much as the BOB because the BOB just moves really easily anywhere. I haven't found a door I couldn't go through with it yet!

I love the quattro tour duo (graco). It unfolds so easily (with one hand) and only the wheels touch the ground when it's folded so it stays clean and doesn't get scratched up. I've used a combi side by side and also a peg perego twin aria and the graco is the one I liked and used the most (and the only one I still have). It's not lightweight but it pushes so easily that it feels lighter than it is when you push it and it maneuvers well.

I have a Joovy and I love it. It's a sit n stand. You can put your graco infant carrier in the front and your almost 2 year old will be able to sit behind the baby facing you. It's not for long rides though because it's not the ideal seat. My son was almost 3 when I got it and he loves it because he can stand or sit and jump off if he wants to. (he can be buckled in too). Once the baby gets out of the infant carrier she/he can sit in the regular seat facing forward. Phil and Teds in a great double stroller (and I've been through quite a few different ones) and will take a Graco car seat. It is pricey though (imo very worth it).

I can tell you NOT to buy a Bumbleride! It looks great but is way to heavy and bulky. I pd $700.00 and used it one time! Good luck with baby #2! What a blessing!

Front to back is a sensible solution especially since they are not twins. Graco is a good brand. When we gave ours away it was still in great condition. Almost a pity but our guy was too old for it.

I would go with the BOB Dualie. I have had the Graco... It was good when they were little. Once #2 was heavier it was a pain to push, and turn. The BOB turns SO easily. I also have the Maclaren double stroller, also side by side. We bought it for vacations, since it folds very small. Also not a stroller for everyday use, but great for trips.

BTW-I bought my BOB during the REI memorial day sale. Just watch the sales, and you might get a deal on it too!
