i dont know what area you live in, so i will give you 2 great, great, great people! in Niles...Venus Tailor Shop and in Hoffman Estates there is seesuesew.com
both are FAB! tell them that K. recommended them!
I've found a material I like that can be used to make custom cushions for built in benches we have in our kitchen. I received a quote from Costco home window treatments service that was outrageous. Does anyone know of someone who could make cushions for a reasonable price?

I would be happy to give you a quote for cushions. I own Window Designs by D.. You can visit my website to see some of my work at www.windowdesignsbydiane.com. Email me with the dimensions of the cushions and I can give you a quote.
Not sure where you're located, but there is a woman in Palatine, Helen Martino, who is an upholsterer. She is reasonable and very good. Her company is J&H Magic Stitches, and her number is 847/359-4378. Best regards!
There is a mom in Glen Ellyn who is a seamstress and she does a wonderful job! Her name is Linda Kurtz and her business is Day Street Designs. Her website is www.daystreetdesigns.com. She also does custom handbags, like Lill Studio downtown, but much more reasonable.
I had the seamstress at my cleaners make mine for me. I measured the seats, went to Vogue Fabrics in Evanston with the measurements, they cut 2" foam inserts for me , I bought fabric based on the length, width and added one 1/2 yard for good measure and then took them to the cleaners and had the seamstress there make them. I also used pretty cording around the edges and had her put a long zipper in so I could clean them, The whole project (2 24" by 5 foot cushions, with fabric and labor was around $300) Good Luck

I know a lady that knows how to saw cloth very well, she also does the bobby pillows and little cushions for babies. I can ask how much she will charge for that job, but I think that she will be very cheap.
her name is Luz.
Hi M.-
I've seen it done on the show called DIY. It doesn't seem that complicated to do yourself. I went to their website and found something that might be useful to you. Maybe you could try doing it with some really inexpensive fabric first for practice??? I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are referring to, but.....here's the link:
