My husband and I just found out we are pregnant last week. Just today I noticed some slight pinkish spotting and passed some tiny pieces of pinkish tissue. We have one child and this did not happen with my first pregnancy. I know every pregnancy is different but what does this mean?? Is this even normal?? I know spotting can be quite normal during pregnancy but the passing of tissue is what is bothering me the most. My doctor's appt was set for next Wed but it was changed to tomorrow morning. Has anyone else had a similar issue early in pregnancy. I am so worried and I'm trying not to be.
To all the moms who helped ease my worries, Thank you!! I do have some sad news. This past Thursday, doctors confirmed that the baby had no heartbeat and had not developed. I was 8 weeks but the fetus measured only 6.5. I had a D&C that same day. It all happened so fast. Just the week before we saw the heartbeat flicker on the U/s. I coulnd't believe the dramatic change from one week to the next. I am so sad and worried that I will never be able to have another baby. I have one son and I just hope that one day he will have a brother or sister. Will my faith and hope come back?? I hope in time it will.
It could be nothing or it could be an early miscarriage. If it is a miscarriage there is nothing that you can do to stop it. Miscarriages in the first trimester are usually always due to a malformed fetus or placenta.

I'll never forget how freaked out I was with spotting in my early pregnancy with my first. I had quite a bit of implantation bleeding that I thought I started my period. I wore a pad for a couple of days waiting for my period to set in. Then realized I might be pregnant. I had spotting that continued for a while. It took my breath away and terrified me. I went to the doctor a couple of times just for reassurance. The time to be concerned is when it's bright red and accompanied with cramping. I was constipated, so it was hard to tell the source of the cramping.

yes i had some bleeding in between my first and second visit to the doctor. I was so scared because we had just told everyone. We went in and they did an ultrasound the next morning and they found a little spot where the bleeding might have come from but it wasn't anything major and they didn't do anything about it and it just went away. It only happened for about 4 hours and it wasn't even enough to wear a liner; was just present when I went to the bathroom. I went through the rest of my pregnancy problem free. I don't think it was "implantation bleeding" because I was further in my first trimester, but if you just found out this could be it also. I will be hoping for the best for your family. I had spotting with some of my pregnancies. I have had 4 miscarriages, 1 stillbirth, and 4 live births.
Two of the miscarriages were a twin, which is also possible. I was so upset when I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks with my first one, and then we found out there was still a healthy baby in there.
A lot of women have some spotting and some even have periods while pregnant.
If they try to tell you the baby was miscarried and you need a D&C wait. I have met several women who decided not to have a D&C and went on to have a healthy pregnancy!!! D&C is not entirely safe, either. If you are miscarrying most likely all of it will pass in your next period.

It could possible be where your baby has inplanted in your uterus. I've heard of that happening. I know that I spotted off and on with my son (my 1st and only child so far) the only thing my doc ever told me was to try to take it easy, don't do anything strenous, drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated, and try as best I could to stay off my feet. Just try to take it easy your doctor will know what to do! If you start having a heavy discharge go to the hospital immediately!
I wouldn't worry just yet. I bled red blood and passed a huge clot when I was 9 weeks pregnant and it was blood clots bursting on my uterus; all signs of blood are not always a bad sign. I also know that implantation spotting is very normal as well. I would try to stay calm until I saw the doctor.
