I would look for a good used double jogging stroller. They are light weight and easier to maneuver then a regular stroller. They also have a higher weight limit.
My youngest boys are 3 and 1.5. I sold my travel system awhile ago, and bought a sit and stand.....HATED it lol. Too long, too hard to steer, and the front seat didn't recline very much so when my little one fell asleep, we'd have to hold him! So I sold it.
I don't use a stroller alot right now as it's winter and we stay indoors most of the time. But we will be going on vacation this coming spring, and I'd like to have something to take with us. We will be driving, so I need something compact.
I've looked around at other models that accomodate two kids, and I'm also considering a single. I really need opinions! I saw the Fisher price stand and ride duo, but can't find alot of info on it. Again, I want something light weight. Not bulky. With a fully reclining front seat. Storage basket that's easily accesible. I'll probably look for something at a resale store or on craigslist. I don't want to spend a fortune, as this will be our last stroller.
TIA!!

I just got a peg perego Aria. It's a side by side double. It is super light, even pregnant I have no trouble lifting it. My son loves it. Each side reclines independently, sun shades are huge. it steers well for a double, and fits my doorways. I live in a very old home with smaller than average doors so that's a BIG deal IMO. It's smaller and takes up less space than a double jogging stroller as well, I've heard horror stories about having to remove wheels on the double joggers to get them in cars. Only issue it they are expensive, I bought mine second hand, or I never would have gotten it.
We have a City Jogger Micro. It's a side by side double, and about $200.
It fits through all standard doorways (PLUS!) and is VERY lightweight. Great ride to it.
It doesn't recline very much, and the sun shades are shorter than the fancier models. But for us and saving the $$, it's been great!
I'm not a fan of the long doubles. They seem like a pain.
I had to look up hte name of my stroller! I have a Graco IPO stroller (single) which is awesome! Ihave used it for both when needed (3&2 y/o) They also make a double (I just found this out, super excited) but the single folds nicley like an umbrella stroller, super light weight and its compact!
I have 3 double strollers:
Graco DuoGlider--I don't recommend it--difficult to steer, sometimes gets stuck while folding & is very heavy
One Step Ahead's Navigator Double Jogger - AWESOME stroller--Love everything about it, and it was a fraction of the cost of the BOB Dualie doubles on the market. However, it is not being sold right now--I think maybe they pulled it off the market for a while & will re-release it later at a much higher cost.
A few days ago I got this one--http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId... I LOVE it--double umbrella stroller--each seat can hold 45 lbs. The baskets are easily accessible, as long as you are not putting something huge in there. The seats do recline fully, but the sunshades are not as generous as I would have liked. Folds very easily--very lightweight and took up only 1/2 the space in my trunk at the double jogger (which is why I got another one--wanted something more lightweight & smaller for daily use).
I'm really happy with the CityMini (or City Micro) by Baby Jogger. It's a side by side, not tandem though. It isn't too heavy and it folds up really easily. I can fit it in the trunk of my Honda Accord with absolutely no problem and can put other stuff back there with it. The storage basket is good - not as good as my Graco single stroller - but better than a lot of doubles on the market. It also big pockets on the back of each seat for holding more stuff.
The seats don't recline at all, but my daughter has still fallen asleep in it many times. I have a 4.5 year old son who's big (44" and 44 lbs) and a 13 month old girl.
If you want single and small, check out Maclarens. They are great.
Hope you find one you like.
I had a buggy board and LOVED it. Attaches to the back of your stroller so the older on can stand and ride but you are not adding a lot to the size or weight you push. I used it until my oldest was 6 on an umbrella stroller even. Great for navigating through crowds and packing in overstuffed cars. You also don't need to choose between a double or single stroller. You have both.
