Visit marcusrollins.com. He is a friend of mine. The website is pretty much wedding-focused but I know he does corporate events and I imagine he has done other types of parties too. Good luck.
We live in Farmers Branch and are planning a big sweet 16 party with dancing. Hotels say the music has to be turned off or down by 9:00 p.m. which is understandable, but won't meet our needs. The best location we've found so far is the Addison Convention Center. Does anyone have any other location ideas, fairly close to Farmers Branch? Parents will need to drive most the kids because of their ages so we want it close by. She doesn't want it at home (she's afraid our trees will be covered with toilet paper again if more people know where she lives.) Also, I've never hired a DJ before. We need someone with a light show. She wants to use neon colors for her color scheme. We'll have neon colored table clothes probably splattered with paint, and neon colored balloons on the floor. We had black lights at her brother's graduation party and light stick necklaces and bracelets and she wants to kind of copy that idea. We're thinking finger food and cake and have a friend make "mocktails" with bright straws, umbrellas and fruit on a toothpick. I am looking forward to your thoughts, ideas and advice!

I work in a hotel and we have sweet 16 parties all of the time. The music can go until way into the night. If you are interested, I work at The Westin Park Central at 635 and 75. We have a huge ballroom or a penthouse space that overlooks downtown and is gorgeous at night.

You might wish to call my party planner, Debbie Jordan of Magic Moment Events at ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. She can help you with location, planning and just about everything in between. She is the best in the business.
I'm not sure of a location, because much of what we feature is in Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Highland Village, but I have a DJ recommendation for you...
Mike at Rockin Party Rentals is awesome (www.rockinpartyrentals.net ###-###-####). He's worked the gammut, from bars and clubs to Karaoke night at Chick-fil-a and (coming 8/14-8/15) will be DJ/MC at the Highland Village Balloon Festival. He plays all kinds of music, has lights and karaoke system (might be a fun idea for a bunch of 16 year old girls), and has a clean act.
He and his wife own the party rental business, so he might have ideas for a venue in your area, along with other supplies or ideas you might need.
Good luck!

Have you seen those 4 new buildings on Marsh Lane between Keller Springs and Trinity Mills? It's an event center called Capella Court Gardens. Here's the website:

Looks like they specialize in weddings, but I'm sure they could handle a raucus Sweet-16 soire.
Sounds like a great party! Check out www.sharpeventdfw.com for the DJ. He is an awesome DJ, very professional and easy to deal with. You can also contact him at ###-###-####. You won't go wrong if you can get him booked but I know he gets booked quickly so you might want to call him as soon as possible. Hope everything works out and your daughter has a great Sweet 16!!!
Sounds fun. We use Bill Cody's Party time for DJ and entertainment. www.partytimetexas.com
He does a great job, light show, teens love his DJ's. We have about 2-3 parties a year and he is the go to guy for a great DJ. Our 14 yr old loves his DJ's.
As for location, try a country club. Some will rent out an event room even if you are not a member. You would more than likely need to use their food services though. Most of the country clubs have good food and great service!
We have our parties either at our home or at our country club. One thing that is completely worth the cost is an off duty police officer. He/She can't enforce house rules but if anything gets out of hand they are there to step in. Our party rule is if you walk out the door, you don't come back. That helps with no one bringing in something they are not supposed to, etc.
I know the TP issue all too well. Unfortunately some kids took it a little far on Memorial weekend and we did file a police report. The eggs, sugar on driveway, mustard and cheese writings was over the top. Ever since word got out that we did file a police report and the police were here, we've not had a problem. I pity the person who gets caught next time because they will be blamed for the whole thing per the police and can be charged. It is vandalism and it is a crime that CAN be followed through with fines and long term consequences. The sad part is some parents support this behavior and one parent in our neighborhood got caught in her car waiting on her teens to TP a house. Not a pretty sight and a very embarrassed mom (her hubby was LIVID)
Your party theme sounds fun. Try Oriental Trading for some fun neon stuff.
We are having another party in a couple months. Whee!

It might be a little far, but we just had a rehearsal dinner at the Woodbridge Golf Club in Sachse/Wylie. They have a "pavilion" - it's enclosed, air conditioned, etc but separate from the club so I don't think the music would be a problem. It has a dance floor and space for a disc jockey. You do have to get your food from them, but it was very good and reasonable. It would be straight across George Bush and then north a little ways on Hwy 78 (by Firewheel Mall) so I don't think it would take very long to get there - maybe the guests parent's could carpool? If you are interested, call Sara Holsted at ###-###-####. Enjoy every minute! Before you know it they are grown and getting married!
Hello,
My daughter went to a party at a place called The Apartment. She was so excited about it that she is planning on having her sweet 16th there in 3 years! I have no idea what it costs or any details except the teens loved it, they had music, and they had a guy that was hired to draw sharpie pen tattoos on those that wanted them. My daughter gave it such rave reviews and I liked their web site that I checked out before she went.

I hope this helps.
