I just found out I am pregnant with my first child and I don't currently have an Ob/Gyn Doc. I was thinking about going to Saint Joseph East and I am wondering if anyone knows of a good physician????

What can I do next?

I highly recommend Lexington Women's Health and Dr. Jeanne O'Nan specifically. They actually deliver at Central Baptist but are well worth it. I originally thought I wanted to deliver at St. Joe East as well but when I heard Dr. O'Nan was at Central Baptist now I was willing to do that. I loved Central Baptist. The nurses that cared for me and my son were all amazing.

I had numerous complications with my pregnancy starting with bleeding at 5 weeks. I called Lexington Women's Health where I was not a patient yet and they got me in that day for an ultrasound. They are great at what they do.

My son was born 6 weeks early and spent a week in the NICU at Central Baptist and all the doctor's and staff there were so great and treated us all like family. I also loved the Lactation Consultant at Central Baptist. Such a great help with a preemie.

Please feel free to contact me if you need more info.

My son is now 6 months old.

If you are in the Lex, KY area, I HIGHLY recommend going to Central Baptist and seeing Dr. Simms (Lynn Simms). She is AMAZING. I will go back to her for any future pregnancies. The staff at the hospital that took care of me after delivery were great too. Very good experience. Good luck and congrats.

I went to Dr. Larry Butler at Associates for Women's Care. I saw all the doctors there and really liked all of them, though. I would recommend any of them! A lot of ladies I know in town also really like Dr. Tamara James, but she is notoriously hard to get in to see -- very busy! Good luck.

Dr. Ashmen at Central Baptist.
Or Dr. High in Georgetown. He's the best!!!

Associates for Women's Care is a wonderful practice that delivers at St. Joe East. I go to the nurse midwives Nancy Shirey and Noel (I can't remember her last name). Nancy delivered my first and Noel delivered my second baby. They are both wonderful! In addition, there are at least 2 male doctors (Green and Butler) and a female doctor (Campbell). If you prefer a male doctor, I would recommend Dr. Butler. He's very sweet and comforting. Anyway, like I said, it's a great practice. Good luck!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Being a mommy is the most wonderful thing in the world!

Take care,
K.
