Hi! I have a newborn daughter. Lately just to get out of the house I've been taking her up to Zilker Park & walking around the lake. It's getting a little boring doing it all the time by myself. I thought it would be nice if I had other mom's & their kids to partner up with & I've seen so many women out there just like me doing it by themselves looking about as bored as me! :) Well then I thought about this site & thought I'd just put it out there to see if anyone was interested in starting a walking group with me (dads can come too if they wanted...)- it could be just one person or many - I don't care I'd just like some company!!! I'm also open to walking in other areas I'm just not as familiar w/other places that are as beautiful & geared for walking like that. I moved here to Austin 2 years ago & none of my friends have kids & most who would walk are working 9-5 & just not available. If you'd like to get out of the house & have some company & exercise all at the same time please respond, I'd love to meet new people & have my daughter make some new friends too!

I'm actually planning to start loading my little girl's (2 1/2 months) jogging stroller into my car next week so that I can take her to town lake after work for a stroll. I work right down town and get off around 3:30. Anyone who has a similar schedule please let me know!

I try to walk every day around town lake and yes it gets boring by yourself.... I have an 11 month old boy.... let me know what time you go..... I too would like to meet more moms over 40 that are first time mothers.....
I would love to be part of a walking group. I am available most of the time as well. We will have alot to talk about as I am also a 40 year old first time mom!

Congratulations on your baby girl! I am a 50 year old mom (of a wonderful 21 year old daughter (at UT) and an amazing 12 year old son (who goes to Barton Hills School). I do walk town lake from time to time because we live very close to Zilker and Barton Springs. I have recently cut WAY back on my work hours (as a clinical social worker) so I'm looking to exercise more. I see that you are looking for moms of young kids, so you may want to walk with younger moms, but contact me if you'd like to walk some morning.

You should check out the South Austin Fun Moms. There is a group with in that group that walks the trail regularly. Its a great social group.

I would love to join your walking group. I work durring the day until 6 Monday-Friday. So Evenings or Sundays, with occasional Saturdays work best for me. Let me know what works for you. Congratulation!!!

I'm 35 a mother of 3 and engaged to be married in July.I'm self employed and 3 times out of the week i'm usually done by 10:00a.m.
I've been wanting a walking,excercise partner.My children are older 8,15,16 and are in school.As many times as i've started and stopped,I feel i would walk more if i didn't get so bored doing it alone.It's so easy to throw in the towl.I have about 12 weeks till i get married and i really wouldn't mind trimming down some here and there.
So if your interested in walking let me know and we can walk and talk and keep each other company.
