We are adopting a female white lab and I'm hoping that ya'll might be able to suggest some unique and sweet names for our new little girl. We'd love ot play off the fact that she is pure white but we can't think of anything. Let me know your suggestions! Thanks in advance!

Ok I'm brainstorming!!

How about Tahoe? Or Aspen? A white pet brings to mind snowy ski resorts.
You can google "ski resorts" and maybe one will have a name or is in a city that you just love the sound of.
Even Vail,Vienna,Everest,or Whistler sound nice.

Also that comes to mind are movies that have a lot of snow or white, such as the Neverending Story or Chronicles of Narnia. Narnia is a pretty pet name. I believe the name of the land in neverending story was Fantasia. And the flying white dog's name was Falcor but that doesn't sound too cute for a girl pet.

Other white pet girl names I like are Moon,Shasta,Britanny,Bunny,Celeste,Phoebe,Penelope,Polly,Crystal,Star,Bridget, Shooga(for Sugar),Glitzen or Glitz,Jazzy,Jackie Frost(call her Frost),Icie,Glacier,Coco(for coconut or even Coco(nut) Chanel),Pearl,Diva,Zsa Zsa,Pina (for pina colada)..

or you could go the white sand beaches route;
Figi,Maui,Lulu(honolulu),Tanya Bahama(like tommy bahama),Tahiti,etc

or think ice skating.
or cold destinations like Russia or Antartica. You could name her Arctica.

here are other name ideas:
Blizzard,Cloud,Daisy,Ivory,Opal,Shimmer,Spirit,and duh..Winter.
:)

What about Nieve? That means snow in Spanish. It's pronounced "knee-ev-e" (well, sort of ... it's hard to phonetically spell that one out!)

She's pure white? Obviously, her name should be Spot.

Blanca is white in Spanish, and I think Blanche is white in French. Chardonnay or Riesling (Reesy for short)(white wines)
Alabaster (white rock)
Flurry (as in snow flurry)
Just a few ideas. Let us know what you decide!

This sounds like fun...

Milly, Libby, Josi, Zoe, Mandi, Sara, Grace

The only names that come to mind playing off the fact that she is pure white:
Angel, Daisy, Trinity, Snowflake, Holy Hailey

That's all that comes to mind for me right now.

Let us know what you end up choosing!

I find it interesting that no one has played off the fact of being a white lab.....why not "Shadow"? (Wasn't the White Shadow a comic book super hero at one point? I may be wrong about that.)

My teen son has had a fish named "Water" and a Guinea Pig named "Ben", and a solid black cat named "Shadow" not for his coloring, but b/c he did not leave my son's side from the time my son saw him!

You've been given a great list of names, and I'm sure you'll find the one that "fits" her personality and coloring. You might also want to dig thru a "Baby Name" book to find a name that would fit.

Have lots of fun with her! (word of caution: if her ears are also completely "white" have her hearing checked. Dogs that have solid white ears have a tendency to be deaf, and you may need to go thru special training with her. That's why you almost always see a "white-eared" dalmation as the mascot of a fire station ~ they can't hear the siren, so it doesn't hurt.)

"Baily" (not sure about spelling) for Irish cream.

Labs originate from up north near Canada so maybe a nice french name like Josephine, and "Josie" for short? Or Francoise and "Franky" for short?

I love the idea of naming her "Spot" but that is the kind of humor I like. :-) We had a dog named Blue Bell b/c she looked like a bowl of cookies n cream (lab/spaniel mix). I also like Marshmallow and Sugar.

My other suggestions:
Blizzard
Coconut
Frosty
Pearl
Popcorn
Snow

I don't have any new suggestions, I just like Blanca and Vanna, since you were using the fact she is white as a starting point.

I like Marshmellow that another poster suggested.

Our dog is named "Milky Way" for his coloring.... some family members tease him and call him Cloudy...

Maybe choose a stellar name ... like Star, Astrid, or weather related... Foggy or sweet like Marshmellow!
