I know that we have many ladies asking and sharing stories on weight loss and WW being one of them.
I would like to open that door open again for some support. I am getting frusterated on the program. I have done it twice before and it seemed easier last time. I know I am older now and carried another child. But it seems so slow. I am loosing maybe 1/2 lb each week. Will there be a time where I will have a big loose ? I eat all the right things, I don't really use the 49 extra points.
I hike about 4 times a week up hill and down that takes me 50 min. What more can I do ???? Is everyone' s experience this slow ????

Alot of people at my WW meetings seem frustrated with the new program, so you're definitely not alone! I have been on it for 10 months now, and haven't seen much difference in my rate of weight loss between the old points program and the new points plus. It's been slow going, but I attribute some of that to the fact that I'm older and don't have too much weight to lose. The biggest benefit to me has been learning to eat healthier and make better food choices. As long as you're still losing, I'd say you're on the right track. Just be patient. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water, and using as many of the filling foods as you can at each meal. And track your points! I find that the weeks I'm really consistent with tracking are the weeks I have some weight loss. Sometimes we just hit a plateau, and maybe that's where you're at right now. Keep at it - the whole point of WW is that it's a lifestyle change - you have to make it fit into your life instead of the other way around, or else it won't be a permanent change. I would suggest re-reading all the materials, and make a fresh start every week. Use e-tools if you have access to it. I find the meetings really helpful in keeping me accountable from week to week. And as far as the "extra" points go, don't use them if you really don't need them - they are there as a safety net, but definitely slow things down if you use them all up. Good luck!

You don't say how old you are, I'm 56. When I was in my 20's, I had no problem losing weight. Once I reached my 30's I had to work harder to lose the weight. My body was slowing down, so bigger salads, more fruit, and more exercise. I hope this helps.
Look into 5-HTP. It's all natural and works on the seritonin (sp) levels in the brain. It helped me.

I have not done WW's, but my mother (years ago) and sister have. Its not my bag. I say this to you NOT to discourage weight loss or WW. If WW's work for some, thats GREAT!!! (please no PM bashing people, this is only my opinion)
I am now, officially, at the 18 pound weight loss mark. I started (truly) about 8 weeks ago? (give or take a week). I am a South Beach Diet junkie!!! Once you learn about carbs, sugar, glycemic index, lean meats, processed foods, white foods.....it all makes sooo much sense. I am NEVER hungry...I was only tired the first week or so....the weight is just plain falling off. I also walk/jog several times a week. (always have) Once you realize that high fructose corn syrup, processed foods and partionally hydrodgenated corn and or whatever OTHER oil...WILL make YOU fat and NOT lose weight. It REALLY isnt hard...I am not hungry. NOR, do I even WANT those things anymore. I also think its good for your (God bless I cant spell it) cholestoral and high blood pressure.
All those WW meals they have in the stores (which I once ate) are nothing but salt, sugar and fillers; IE: pasta, rice, potatoes....
Seriously, if you think you can, look into The South Beach Way of Living....I know that I feel better!!!

A 1/2 pound a week is amazing. I know that is not what you want to hear but our society has taught us that we need results now and are not willing to take the long hard road to get what we need. I generally loose a pound a week for 3 weeks and gain 2 one week (my cycle is very frustrating for me). But I am not consistent with my weight loss and would give anything to consistently loose 1/2 a pound a week. As long as the weight loss is consistent that is fine. Remember, you didn't put the weight on over one month and are not going to loose it over one month. It is healthier to loose it slowly than faster and will be a more permanent weight loss. Also, don't just judge by the scale. Are your clothes starting to get looser? Are you able to hike further faster? You also may want to shake up your workout and do something different a day or two a week. Sometimes our bodies adjust to workouts and that will plateau your weight loss. Try some free weights two times a week, not to bulk up, but to build muscle that will increase your metabolism. Good luck

Be encouraged...I am frustratee too.! The new program seems a little more challenging to me but since having kids it has been more difficult. You say you are eating all the right things??? Are you measuring and weighing your food portions? Journaling...i find i do so much better when i journal. Drinking your water? Also, while you may be doing all the right things..how much fruit are you really consuming...Eating five bananas a day will slow down your progress....Let's face it fruit has natural healthy sugars but...sugar nonetheless. Share your journal with the WW leader to see if she can pinpoint some changes you might need to make. Also, next week I intend to look at the getting started book because they have a pull out page that gives you meal ideas for breakfast lunch and dinner. I am going to see if that helps me. It's ok...and yes as we get older it gets harder...When I was in my 20's I could lose 3-5 pounds in a week!! Not anymore...Hang in there.

Try working out more. Vary your exercise. A hike 4 times a week for 50 minutes is good, but it sounds like you may need something more than that. They say to do cardi one day, weights another day, etc. Alternate your workouts so they dont' get boring and so your body doesn't get so used to them.

Make sure you are getting plenty of protein, eat your fruits (but not too many), drink your milk, and RELAX!!! It will work! Don't eat carbs at night, like after 7. Even if it's a WW ice cream, skip it - or have it in the afternoon. Just try to change up what you are eating or your exercise routine.

My advice is to make sure you are eating ALL of your points ( I have never done WW, but eating enough is important) and add weight lifting to your routine. Switching up a workout routine sometimes "shocks the body" into a sudden weight loss. Hope that helps :)

I've started WW Jan 2010 and have lost 98lbs thats an average of 1.8 a week. dont get discouraged! Change it up, funny how your body gets used to something. I started with just cardio 40 min 6days/week then weight loss slowed so i hired a trainer/started lifting weights. weights has had a huge impact for me. burn fat faster feel better its nice to feel a muscle comming out i have some loose skin in abdominal area but its ok I mistreated my body for so long. anyway I aslo take CLA and green tea fat burner, yes you can do it with out anything but this works for me. i researched a lot of things and these do not alter your heart rate which is my main concern. So I"m 10 lbs to goal. it will come off just need to change things up every 3 months at least try new things and challange yourelft. your body may be used to hicking why not add some ankle weights or go at a faster pace for 2 min then slow down for 1min. Good luck, you can do it!
