What about something dealing with saving money in the economically challenging times. ie: angelfood ministries... for food savings. Being Frugal...etc. Saving money?
just a thought! best of luck!
I volunteer with a ministry who support women, men and single parents. As a leader within the ministry, I have my own corner.. T.'s communication corner.. Our next edition comes out next month and I am unsure about what information to put into it.. Any advice? It can be my own views or information I find relevant, that people would enjoy reading..Please give me your suggestions..Thank you

Single parents?
State 529 college savings plans. People should begin putting away whatever they can for their babies...even a commitment of $25/month will make a HUGE difference in their future opportunities.
Spring Break is coming up, perhaps some ideas on fun trips, activities, backup childcare, break day camps, etc.

I'd probably focus on a theme, either saving money or personal well-being. For instance, March is Women's History Month. You might want to focus on women's health issues (various exams, hormone therapy, etc.), the importance of caring for the temple and how our physical health impacts our ability to care for others, and maybe an article on time management. Try to find something on being a full-time caregiver. If you wanted to do a financial theme, you could find articles on changes to tax laws, a list of free or nominally priced family events in the area, or preparing quick, nutritious meals on a shoe-string budget, including coupons for those dishes and the cost of the meal at the end. Get copies of Washington Parent or some other parenting magazine, which are available free to your members.
Hi there T.,
What a nice endeavor in which to be involved. Does it have to be spiritually linked or can it be about anything? Perhaps money saving tips? Here are a few links: http://www.doughroller.net/2007/11/06/51-painless-money-s...
If you need to link it spiritually you can talk about wants and needs. Here is an idea: http://lifestyle.iloveindia.com/lounge/how-to-save-money-...
Let us know what you wrote about. What a great service youre providing!
I would recommend Angel Food Ministries. It's a great program that allows you to purchase a box of food worth $60 to $70 for just $30. There is no income verification or limit on who can purchase what. My church has started participating and as a single parent myself, this has been very helpful in reducing my food budget. The church is First Baptist Church of Woodbridge and you do not have to attend to purchase. Their website is http://www.angelfoodministries.com/ online you will find this month's menu (it changes every month) and a link to find the site closest to you. If someone wanted to order through my church, it is set up to accept online purchases (not all churches do this). Otherwise they can order through the church with cash, money order, or food stamps.
I am studying communication in school. Perhaps you could put in some of the current theories regarding communication to generate discussion. Where is you church located?
