I have never heard of NeevoDHA. I used a Prenatal vitamin from Whole Foods and never told my dr. and she always said my blood work looked beautiful and even asked me where I ate! Some of these prenatal vitamins have food coloring and yeast. Yikes! Ask for a printout from the pharmacist before you fill your prescription. Ask your doc if an over the counter prenatal vitamin will work. Also, there are many differing reports over the over-hyped benefits of DHA.

I used a non-prescription vitamin that my midwife recommends--Prenatal Forte by NF Labs. It doesn't need to be prescribed to be effective. So, I am sorry that I can't say anything about the one you have.

What I would like to do is offer a bit of advice from one first time mom to another. Make sure you are getting a chance to ask your obstetrician questions and that they are being answered during your appointments. Write them down as they come to you...it will help you remember them when the time comes.

Having used a midwife, I would never go back to an obstetrician if I could help it. However, I know it isn't for everyone. What I do know is that my midwife had plenty of time for my questions and never made me feel rushed...you should expect the same from your caregiver (and their support staff). I went through a period when I just needed to hear the heartbeat...weekly. She obliged.

Good luck and I hope you find the answers to all of your questions.

Hi I just wanted to say that this is a great natural alternative to prenatal vitamins which in most cases are not natural. For a natural alternative you can purchase Vita Lea with iron and B complex which will give you and most importantly your baby what he/she needs you can find this at www.shaklee.net/healthydesire type in those names and read on them a lot of information is there.

Good luck

I didn't take it, but I just looked it up and its for High Risk Pregnancy and if your body has problems folic acid. If you don't have those problems I would ask your doc about changing it because insurance may not cover it. Just a suggestion.

Hi A.,
My husband and I are anxiously expecting our first baby this Thanksgiving and I too have been prescribed prenatal vitamins I've never heard of. I actually did take NeevoDHA and several others until I found the right one. For the month i took NeevoDHA i was just fine. I did not have any abnormal side effects whatsoever. I have also taken TandemDHA- tastes horrible and I tended to burp it up-eeww!! I have also taken Prenate DHA which taste like candy. Not bad. But so far (because of my constipation issue) the perfect one for me is Citra Natal Assure which consisents of an amber-colored pill(resembles a vitamine E capsule) which helps w/ constipation and a white pill which is the actual prenatal vitamin. Luckily all my blood work has been good no matter which prenatal vitamin i have taken. Just make sure to find the one that works best for you. Fortunately you have so many options! :-)
