Networking Ideas for My Husband?

My husband was laid off from his job at Countrywide in November. He decided to get back into his old field of insurance and is working with Nationwide Insurance in Allen. He's finally got all of his licenses back up to date and is able to start writing policies. He's over the commercial side doing policies for business owners, but can write any other policy as well. He's looking to network with some business owners, and real estate agents. Are there any groups out there that you ladies know of that I can help get him set up with? I've done a search on them, but am not really finding anything like it.

What can I do next?

I'm a recruiter in Dallas...but I focus on IT, so not much of a help there.

But, I can tell you to tell him to go sign up for Linked In. It is a great networking tool that is for all fields...and it is free. Tell him to use alot of those searchable words that people can put in to find him specifically in his profile.

Good luck!!

Ditto on the chambers. My personal favorite is the Plano chamber (I'm a member) but Frisco is pretty vibrant as well. I hear McKinney is good too. He should try all the local chambers and perhaps some business referral groups. He can go to the chamber websites and get specific info about meetings. He might also check out business owner associations (NAWBO, ABWA, etc.).

Strongly recommend attending the Chamber of Commerce meetings in McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Allen, and any others he cares to attend. He can then decide which ones to join. Chambers offer great networking opportunities.

Good Luck!

Hello C.! Check out the Plano Chamber of Commerce- they have lots of free events for potential attendees; also there is Team Networking www.teamnetworking.com, and BNI- business networking international; you may want to search networking in dallas, tx and see what results you get.

Best Wishes,

Check to see if his college alumni association has any groups. I went to Texas A&M and they have networking meetings all the time in my area.
