I have a 2 1/2yr old and need some new menu ideas. She is pretty picky but want to continue offering her healthy food options. Any menu of food ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner would be great.

What can I do next?

try strawberry's frozen is fine blended with a little oj over buckwheat pancakes. Blue berries are yummy too. Yogurt smothies with wheat germ and fruit, any fruit frozen are great. Blueberries and banana are supper food. Spagettie with brocoli oand grated carrots in the sauce, cook till they are soft and if in small enough peices they get eaten without them even knowing this is good with chopped up frozen spinach also. adding small chunks of tofu add protein, but adding canned tuna to tomato sauce is great because they can't taste it really. Add flaxseed oil to everything! They can't taste it and it adds Omega 3. Bennifiber is great cause you can add it to anything for fiber but with little kids you don't have to add much. Plain yogurt blended with their favorite fruit and frozen in a little cup with a popsicle stick they think it's icecream popsicles! you can do the same yogurt trick but instead of popsicles after it's partialy frozen throw in the mixer and it gets creamy. I like www.allrecipes.com for ideas also. my son loves steamed brocolli if he gets to mix it in his mac and cheese, but wont eat it if I mix it in for him. Go figure. If she likes noodles give her noodles with something she likes plus something else. My son loves top ramen and even though I hate the stuff and I think it's awful nutrition I skip the seasoning packet and put some Bragg's liquid aminos. http://www.bragg.com/ I get it at the natural food store tastes like the oriental flavor but good for you. and a little goes a long way. adding braggs and flax seed oil to anything gives extra nutrition. ~V.

Try using cookie cutters. Make your own healthier version of Lunchables by cutting whole wheat bread, low-fat cheese and deli meat, even veggies such as red or yellow peppers. I have a set of 10 different shapes like stars, hearts, apples, flowers so that we can do different ones every day!

There are some great cookbooks you can check out at the library that are made specifically for kid friendly fare. Most of the time I find if I just make it look neat my son will eat it. (ie. cutting sandwiches into fun shapes and such)The other thing is try to think of recipes where your daughter can help "cook" my son will always eat things he made himself =)

my daughter always eats thing we let her make too! give her peanut butter and have her spread it.. mine always eats it after that! also She loves to spread Cream Cheese.. she eats a ton in the process but will eat the whole bagel when she's done spreading.. We buy whole wheat Heart Healthy breads from S. Lee.. My husband loves them.. the bagels too!
I also get Whole Wheat Ritz.. and let her spread stuff on that too!... the idea the other poster had with letting them make it is what we do with our daughter.. if she helps in any way.. she'll gobble it up...my littler one however! Not a chance... ha ha..

My kids ate anything as long as it's covered in ketchup. I know that's not spelled right Ha, ha. Anyway, the even put it on veggies. I don't see the problem as long as they eat the good stuff. Good luck!!!
