New Mom Group in West Metro?

Can anyone tell me about the local moms' groups?

I am currently on maternity leave until May and would love to meet some other moms in the area. Unfortunately it seems like the groups are only for stay at home moms and the ECFE classes look like I can't sign up until the fall....

What can I do next?

I have 2 ideas for you:

1. Mothers and More - a mix of SAH moms and employed moms (I am a working mom too and love this group because they meet at night!). They meet in several Twin Cities locations, including mine which is in the west metro.

2. Mother's Day - a new place that I'm opening in May to provide fun groups and activities for moms, with child care on site (plus nail salon, hair salon, and deli - also with child care drop-in).

My email if you want more info on either: ____@____.com

My sister belongs to a mom's club & really likes it. Here's one in the New Hope, Crystal area: http://www.momsclubnhrcs.org/ But, there may be one closer to you if you do a search.

There's also a holistic moms network that is really great if you're interested in health and the environment and things. We meet at the Ridgedale library, one evening a month. There's also a SW Minneapolis chapter. (Worth the drive!) There is usually a speaker on interesting topics, and it nice to meet people too.

I know several community centers also have a day or two a week for the kids to play and Mom's to meet. Logan Park in NE Minneapolis is a great one!

I just joined South Metro Moms and Tots group on meetup.com

They have meet-ups several times a month, sometimes during the day, and sometimes in the evening.

Bloomington has a new session of ECFE starting March 2. I'm sure you can still sign up for the infant class.

I am part of MOPS International (mother's of preschoolers). We meet at Ridgewood church in Minnetonka every other Thursday morning. It is open to everyone. Mom's meet for an hour and a half while the children are cared for my many loving women, mostly grandparents. The kids are separated by age. It is really nice to have some time with other moms while the kids play. If you would like more information you can go to mopsinternational or ridgewoodchurch.info.
