New Mommy, Looking for Daycare and Friends

I've been in the Dallas area for the last two years, but have spent all of my time working. I am expecting a baby girl in July and am looking for a new parent group where I can meet other Mom's. I am also looking for some evening and weekend day care options and wondered if anyone has any advice? I haven't found much outside of the traditional M-F 8-5pm. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I second Adventure Kids Playcare for drop in day or night or weekend care. they are awesome! My daughter loves going there. They are closed on sundays though. They have several locations. http://www.adventurekidsplaycare.com

To find a playgroup or group of moms with your interests in your area check out http://www.meetup.com, they have tons of groups and tons of people just like you looking to connect!

I am also in Dallas and there are neighborhood preschool associations for mothers of 5 and under. The other way I met moms was by going to neighborhood playgrounds and if you google children,s activivities dallas, you can find activities and meet other moms. Childcare, there is /www.babysittersofdallas.com and for another clean , safe, fun, option that I and many moms around here use is www.adventurekidsplaycare.com which is a drop in place, reasonable and kids are well cared for, fed, played, and entertained. Good luck. Let me know if I can help with other suggestions

Well....I just posted that I will watch one of my parents (daycare) son once in a while in the evening and on the weekend.

This is the first time I'm doing this outside of the daycare environment....so I don't really know how this will be ;) ....

I do have about 15 years of childcare experience and 2 kids (9 and 3) of my own, so this shouldn't be an issue.....

I live in Plano.

not sure where you live, but in East Dallas and other areas of the metro there is a place called Kidztime that watches kids on fri and sat nights. my husband and i utilize them some since we don't always plan ahead for a sitter. i have a friend who used them regularly so she can get her hair done or visit the dr. without a kiddo in tote. another thing i wanted to add is look into your church. i've found mine to have a wonderful mom's group that has helped me work through the transition of becoming a mom.
