http://www.cobbmoms.com/ is a great group of women. Totally organized with e-vites they send out to those on their approved mailing list. They truly want to get to know mommies in the area and have a lot of outings planned to do this.

Welcome to GA! I'm researching some of my ancestry in TX and you can imagine how daunting because, well, Tex-sass is HUGE! LOL GA can be very fun! Be sure to take in a show or two at the Fox Theater and go to the Center for Puppetry Arts for their activities :) The bistros and food around town is awesome and Little Five Points is great for the eclectic in you :)

Callaway Gardens at Christmas is Awesome as is Lake Lanier and Life College off Cobb Parkway with all the Christmas light shows. The plays on Marietta Square and in Roswell are fun and very well performed. Take a min to get on just about every list out there for fun activities in Atlanta and you won't be disappointed. If you like a good hot dog, take in a dog and rings at The Varsity in downtown Atlanta. IKEA is the place to go for really cool stuff as well as some awesome cinnamon rolls that are so incredibly cheap :)

If you're into the exercise scene, you can't beat all the neighborhood road races as well as the city road races which are bigger but just as much fun :) Walking trails and hiking trails, the Silver Comet, pet-friendly parks and, lest we forget, the annual Halloweenie event held at different parks during Halloween (dachshund owners get together from different message boards and hold a Halloween costume event where they've dressed up their dachshunds - hilarious - just get on some dachshund boards for the places and times as they change)

Are you into shopping? The outlet malls are the best! Go straight up 75 to the Dalton area or up 400 to the Dahlonga area or to Commerce. Beautiful scenery and friendly folks! Pan for gold while you're up there and take in the Square where there's some of the prettiest quilts you'll ever see. Speaking of which, if that's your interest, take in a few of the Cobb or Gwinnett county quilt fairs. AWESOME quilts! Take a friend and you'll be there all day :)

Bikers have events going on all over the city both as charities and get-togethers. Car clubs are abundant and car shows are pretty good here. I like the local ones the best.

Get a Creative Loafing newspaper (free) and go through the events lists as well as those listed in the AJC on Sundays :)

www.meetup.com has a lot of group activities that meet around town. I'm into gaming and board games and crochet groups :)

Thanks for being a part of mamasource!

Hi V.! There was a mommy group that was forming in Atlantic Station last fall. I don't know if it still meets, but you may want to check out this contact info:

For more information, contact Nancy Tao at ____@____.com or ###-###-#### or visit www.atlanticstation.com

I live in Grant Park near the zoo, and we have a fabulous parent's network that is open to people living anywhere in the city. If you live outside of Grant Park, we ask that you pay a one time $15 joining fee. We have playgroups for all ages of children, so you could look at www.grantparkparents.org and find the one for you if you're interested. The playgroups usually meet once or twice a week.

Hello V.

I don't live in your area but I know that after stumbling upon meetup.com I couldn't be more happy. I found a bunch of different groups to join and then decided on just one after a while.

Good Luck

Hi V.,

Welcome! You may like to try this, just on your doorstep ... you should meet some other moms there.

STROLLER MORNINGS @ ATLANTIC STATION
Every Wednesday @ 9:30
Atlantic Station Central Park
www.atlanticstation.com

Pack your stroller and a snack for the little ones and drive over to Atlantic Station. There is designated FREE parking in the garage. And no need to worry about your morning caffeine fix -- Starbucks provides FREE coffee.
Meet at the Café in Target Atlantic Station for a one-mile walk thru Atlantic Station. Starbucks coffee and socializing begin at 9:30 am and the stroll begins at 10:00 am. In the event of inclement weather, Mommy + Me will continue to meet inside the café at Target for socializing and toddler play for approximately 1 hour.
Free, covered parking is available at Target. Take the elevator up one level and the café is located directly in front of you as you walk out of the elevator.
