I'm looking for shoes for my toddler to wear when we go swimming or even just play in a wet, slippery area (frog fountains at the arboretum, for example). What no-slip water shoes have you tried, and about how much do they cost? Thanks!

So What Happened?

We went with the Children's Place shoes - they were 2 for $12 - and tried them out at the splash park today. They worked great. Thanks for all your tips!

I have used the aqua shoes from Walmart for several years now. They are about 5 - 7 bucks and work great in water.

I have used the ones from Walmart with my liitle girl and they worked well and are a good inexpensive option. This year I found some Skechers at Toys R Us that are similar in material to the crocs and they worked really well when I took her to the spray park. I think I paid $15 for those.

Good morning K.,

I have found any kind of cheap water shoes from Target or Walmart work great.

Don't spend a lot of money on them.

Have a great day!

I think the ones at childrens place look great, and you would not mind letting them wear them other places!! I have tried the traditional water shoes in the past, with the mesh on top and white soul on the bottom, and they tend to be hard to get on, especially if they have gotten wet!! I considered getting my girls some crocs this summer, but I am not sure if they are super slippery when they are wet. But like I said, I really like the ones at childrens place, though I have never tried them, they appear to be just what I will be needing. Good luck! ~A.~

I got my daughter some cute ones with Dora on them at Big Lots. I think they were $5. They are really cute. They also had Diego for the boys and some other designs.

Hi. I just got my son a pair today at Wal-Mart. They were 4.88, which is a good price. He loves them and wont even take them off. I will probably have to fight with him to get him to wear his regular shoes when we go anywhere now. So I suggest looking at Wal-Mart.

We have purchased ours in the past at Wal-Mart or Target. They are about 6 or 7 dollars. Be prepared, when my daughter was that age she got some with Elmo on them- and those became her new shoes- water or not. She would only wear those! Good Luck!

I would recommend the Crocs. They were first made to wear as a non slip shoe on boats. They really are no-slip even when wet. And so comfortable, you're going to want a pair for yourself!

They are 24.99$ for children I think.

2 moms came over with some sandal no slips from Ross the other day and my daughter loved them. They said they were like $7. They looked like they were made of wet suit material almost and they had strong velcro up front and a stretchy stap across the back.

I would recommend the water shoes from Wal-mart. They are the traditional ones that are fully enclosed and slightly resemble a tennis-shoe.

My other recommendation, similar to Crocs would be Holey Soles from Calloway's. They have a line for kids that are slip resistant, water proof and absolutely the most comfortable shoe anywhere! My daughter has a pair and I have 4!! I have a bad back and these shoes let me walk around Grapevine Mills without hurting after a few hours! GREAT!!! Plus they have the little charms to put in the holes! (Psst, they are 25% off now until Thursday!!)
