What should I do? I have not had a period since last April. No not preggos. My husband said we can start trying as soon as I get my period so I am anxiously waiting to get it. I have found a web site that has herbal tea that is suppost to help with Amenorrhea. I talked to my OB and she said just wait for it to come naturaly. But am getting worried that I wont get it back on my own,

What can I do next?

I would try to do things naturally, herbal tea is pretty natural, It took about 10 months for my body to get a period after 6.5 years of being on the pill. I had my thyroid tested and everything was normal, I was vegetarian and I began eating red meat, I was craving it in my diet, and got my period the next month, not sure if it was the iron and protein my body needed or just a co-incidence but I was pretty regular after that, try to be patient and give your body time to flush all those hormones out, Start eating healthy so you are already at a good weight before pregnancy, don't worry it will happen

It took me a year to start my periods after going off the pill. My doc said he could prescribe a pill, but it was 80 bucks and I was a college student with no insurance, so I toughed it out.

If you're wanting to get pregnant I would highly recommend acupuncture. Try searching for one that specializes in women's issues or fertility. Even if you don't have a big range of choices in practitioners, all acupuncturists can help you get your period back. Whomever you choose will recommend a course of treatment that includes taking herbal remedies as well as acupuncture. The acupuncturist might also help you examine your diet and recommend foods that will enrich your system and help you make a good "nest" for your baby.

When I stopped taking birth control after being on it for over 10 years, my doctor said most women take 6-12 months to have a period after stopping birth control. Hang in there, it will most likely come back on its own.

Just a suggestion, but you don't always have to have a period to be ovulating. The reason I suggest this is: many women don't menstruate right away after having a baby (some up to 2 years; average 4 months), but they still ovulate! Some women are VERY surprised to find they're pregnant again already even though they hadn't menstruated.
