At my son's baseball camp - a players stance is usually the length of their baseball bat! You'd have to be a baseball mom to appreciate it - but it was good 411!!!
I was getting my hair cut this afternoon at the salon I've gone to for a year now. I love the girl and she's always very honest and open with me. I told her I was thinking about going dark (blonde now) in the fall and that I'll probably have her do it because when I do it, it seems like the blonde comes through sooner.
She told me (I'm quoting) - "Let me tell you this and I don't want you to think that I don't want to color your hair but because you have so much blonde in your hair, no matter who colors it, your blonde will show through. I'm not trying to tell you to not have me do it, but you'd save a bunch of money by doing it yourself." I love that she was open and honest with me, even if it means her not getting the money!
Have you heard any advice, info, etc that you'd like to pass along to us today?
Thanks!

Cars are just nuts, bolts, and sheetmetal. That basically goes for any machinery. For an engine to run, it takes 3 things. 1) Fuel 2) Air 3) Heat source. There are only 4 stages to an internal combustion engine (in any car, truck, airplane (not talking about turbines)). 1) Intake (funny term = suck) 2) Compression (funny term = squeeze) 3) Power (funny term = bang) 4) Exhaust (funny term = blow)
A turbine (jet engine for example) does basically the same thing, but it happens simultaneously.
It REALLY IS that simple.
Tires- You have 3 numbers in the pattern of ### / ## R ##. For example- 225/60/15 (pretty common size). The 1st number is how many millimeters wide that tire is. The second number is the percentage in height of that width. (using my example 225mm for the width. so, that would be 135mm in height. because 60% of 225 is 135.) The final number is simply the size of the wheel in inches. I have NO CLUE WHY someone would use metric AND standard... Ask vehicle manufacturers why they do... They wouldn't have an answer either. My guess? To make mechanics buy more tools.
Home repairs are just as easy... I still don't really like home electrical though.
You can cure type 2 adult diabetes in its onset by eating a diet of raw fruits and veggies for about 2 weeks. It seems so easy and like more people should know about it but hardly anyone does. it is true too, its been tested and has succeeded many times.
basically it heals the pancreas which is the source of the blood sugar imbalance.
I like to think I'm a ''foodie'' in training. Someone suggested to watch the documentaries 'Food Inc.' and 'Future of Food'.
I also learned that something called Kefir 'cures' eczema. Who knew? I'm gonna google it later.
Oh yes, and body brushing gets rid of cellulite.
i found an online article that said you can use chammomile(sp?) tea to make your hair blond and that you can use coffe to darken your hair.
and my MIL told me that if you use vinegar to wash your hair it makes it silky soft and shiny.
i havent tried them yet but i think i will, i have all those things already at home...lol
I'm a hairstylist and what? It's true you can diy your haircolor at home if you are blonde going a few shades darker and it can still look good. So long as you are doing it correctly. I hope she gave you some good pointers, b/c most at home color jobs I see are absolutely horrible, and they don't do that well of a job giving pro-tips on the color boxes. Your blonde is coming in sooner, not due to regrowth, but probably from fading. Oh, chamomile tea will not make your hair blonde and coffee will not darken your hair! Maybe it will add a tinge of color... but it won't last or be an all over effect. The tea thing, you have to mix it with a few ingredients, basically like a sun-in. That just makes me shudder!
Also, what amanda g said. Watch the documentaries, "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" and "Food Matters", both are on Netflix. they will totally save your life! 2 handfuls of cashews a day can cure depression, as can mega dosing of niacin! and megadosing of vitamin c can help cure cancer over chemo.
We had vision insurance at one time and out eye DR. told us it was a waste of money, that you are just paying monthly what they would charge at the appt. And he said that going to Walmart, where it is cheaper, to get eyes checked is ok. They do the same thing there. He said problems, come back to him. So we dropped our insurance and go to Walmart for all appts.
baking soda is the ultimate beauty tool! I mix about a teaspoon of it with my face wash in my hand, then use the mixture to exfoliate my face. It's amazing how smooth and even your skin looks after that! You can also mix it with your shampoo to make a paste, then lather your hair up for a deep clarifying cleanse. These tips are great--thanks for the post!
If you get stung by a bee or wasp, put baby butt cream on it. It will make the swelling go down asap!
I heard that if you have high cholesterol taking niacin will help lower it. You can buy it over the counter but recommend taking the non-flush kind. That's where your face won't flush (or get dizzy). My husband took it and his cholesterol dropped by almost 20 points after about a month.
