I have had long hair (down to my waist) all my life. Since I got pregnant with the baby I have done NOTHING with it but wash it and put it up in a bun! I've decided to cut it all off and donate it to locks of love. Problem is I'm scared to death of getting a bad hair cut... so I need your advice on a fabulous hair stylist that does great short hair dos! I live in Lantana, however I'm willing to drive for that "to die for" do!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ok, I did it! I went with Karen at Posh Salon in Boynton Beach... she's ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! She took her time and talked at length about what I wanted and what to expect with that hairstyle. Then she cut off 18 inches for me to donate to Locks of Love. I LOVE my new cut. I would recommend her to everyone!
Thank you all so much for taking the time to respond to my request.

M.,

I came to this site asking the same question! I used to drive from Boynton to Yellow Strawberry on Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale for years and got tired of the drive. I was sooo skeptical about changing hairdressers but I took the advice of 2 other members and I am so thrilled I did!!

Her name is Karen Papetti and she is at Posh Salon (Gateway and Congress - next to Tuesday Morning). She's awesome with color and cut! Here's their website: http://www.poshspa.net

Good luck!

Hi M.,

I have been a hairdresser for 18 yers and i pretty much have lways cut my own hair but it got to a point where I wanted a style so I decided for the first time since my adult life to let some one cut it and do what they wanted. I loved my sisters hircut so I decided to go to her hair dresser and she did n amazing job. I just went back to her for my 2nd haircut 3 days ago and still did the same amazing job. SHe is Okeechobee fl. I live in NPB bit it is an hour drive to her from here, but I lso just found out that on thursdays she works t a shop in PBG but that is in a shop so it would probably cost more but it would save on the drive out the and gas so it might be worth it. In okeechobee she has a room set up in her house. If interested in this let me know and I will get her number for you or the name of the salon. I do not have it but I can get it from my sister.

If there is one thing that i splurge on, it is my hair!
I could care less about manicured nails, pedies for toes or facials, but foregoing trips to the salon for my hair is not an option, I tell my husband! I drive all the way from Boynton to Boca to see my colorist and stylist. My salon is wonderful! Everyone is nice, professional, and most importantly, the stlists and colorist listen to what you want and are always full of advice if needed. I go to Salon Duda (located over by the Boca Town Center Mall) and I'd see either Ceci, Eric, Ron, or Laurie for a cut and style- they are really all amazing there and SOOOO nice! My colorist is Stephanie- I love her! I am pretty sure if you are doing Locks of Love (and good for you for supporting such a great cause) they will do your style complimentary because they support Lock of Love too!!!! I get complimented all the time on my hair. ###-###-#### Believe me, I can definitely relate to needing to find that perfect stylist. I searched high and low and I think I have been everywhere from Ft lauderdale to Boca throughout my search because I was once a victim of a really bad hair cut. I am over my fear since I've been to Salon Duda- Good Luck!
ps- I have a 13 month old too! They are so busy, right? Non-stop is my little girl. Rushing to type this- she just woke up from nap :)

M.,

I went to several hair stylists here in South Florida and received many very expensive shitty haircuts. I'm very happy with my current hairstylist...2 1/2 years and HAPPY.

###-###-####. Also more importantly she is a perfectionist. The shop is small and extremely clean. The shop is a full service day of pampering. The best facials you will ever dream of. I have been to "Giana MARIE" and "The Breakers" for a full day at the spa and nothing has come close to the immediate attention and detail of my quiet shop around the corner. I give them an AAAAAA plus plus plus. I also have my husband going to her and she cuts my 2 & 3 year olds hair as well. The very BEST!!!
