Older Mom's Groups???

I was wondering if there is such a thing as a 35+ moms group.
I had my son at 40 and I find I just don't fit in, well, I'm TOLD I don't fit in to mom's groups. I would love to meet moms I have lots in common with. I've done everything backwards in life, I had my only child at 40. We are on a strict budget, so I don't go out to eat a lot, etc. But I would LOVE to play board games or something with a regular group. I mean, we could even bring husbands and children into it occassionally. lol
Does this sound pathetic?

Tell me about it. I will be 61 next month and I'm raising a 5 year old. I have my hands completely full with this beautiful child and my 93 year old father and a handsome 44 year old husband. My father has a better social life than we do, but right now, we feel grateful at the end of the day just to be settled in and resting. Maybe I can go get a shot of B12 or something and find enough umph to be social again. A great game of cards and some fun adults sounds really good to me.
I have to tell you though, the best part of my whole life came after reaching 40, no doubt about it.
Knowing smiles,
C. S.

I definitely know how you feel. I always feel like the oldest mom whenever I venture out to any of the local moms groups. I'd love to find a group for more "mature" moms!

I hope not to offend by responding but I've read some of the responses you've received and am interested in the group you may find yourself creating.....Except I'm a Gramma this time, I'm 48 and my daughter is 22 - she belongs to Mommy Groups with people her age, and they're pretty much all in their early 20's. I am caregiver to my 4 month old grand daughter and would love to meet with some ladies for activities during the day, maybe catch up on some newer infant/toddler/child advice, etc....Anyway, if you wouldn't mind a gramma in your mommy group let me know....I raised 2 girls of my own and am stepmom to quite a few, also stepgrandmother(although we don't use that word, just Gramma)....alternatively if you know of anyone in my situation please let me know! I would especially like to find a friend with a little girl near my grandchilds age...

I just joined mamasource, and saw this post. I'm 37 (does anyone else have to stop and think about how old they are) and have a 17 month old at home. I also have two stepkids, who are 12 and 14, but when I'm with my little one and kids his age, I often feel old. I'm all for creating a group - I can set one up on yahoo if that would be appropriate, and then post the link here.

Hi E.,

I know you posted a while ago, but I just saw it and wanted to invite you to take a look at our new working moms group in the Keller/Southlake area. I'm an older mom too (37, with a 2-1/2 yo and 9 mo). We actually have all ages of moms - 20s, 30s and 40s. We're a new group and our activities are primarily in the evenings and on the weekends to accomodate the work outside the home mom. We have mom's nights, couples nights, and family playdates, but since we're still small, haven't really established a scheduled "game night" or anything yet. Although I'd really like that - I love cards, boards games and bunco! The link is: http://workingmoms.meetup.com/5/ I'd love for you to check it out and take a look at our members to see if you'd like to meet us. Have a great weekend,

C.
