I'll try this one more time! I've posted two questions on here since moving to the Springfield area from St. Louis, and no one has answered me. :( My questions must be the only two out there to have zero responses. Anyway, my family and I moved to this part of the state because of a great job opportunity, but it's been really hard because we have no family or friends here. That said, does anyone out there have any recommendations for a good OB/GYN in the Springfield area? Again, I don't know anyone around here, so I'd really appreciate help. I just don't like the idea of picking a doctor out of the blue, esp. because we've been trying for another baby for the past year. So, please help!!!!! If anyone has any suggestions for a doctor that helped her through infertility or getting pregnant, that would be great. Or maybe someone just knows of a good OB/GYN review website that I could check out. I hope that there are some nice and helpful moms out there in Springfield!
I know my gyno moved to springfield and she was awesome. Amy Warner. I dont know where she practices but if you can find her she is awesome.
To be honest, I did not like my doctor but I could not switch after I had already gone over 26 weeks. Mine was at Jordan Valley but that was only one of many there. I would look up online at their profiles and see what others have said.

I wished I had seen this earlier! I was born and raised in Springfield! Kristy Mccall, she is in the Cox Health systems. She is probably one of the most sought after OB/GYN. She was mine and was AWESOME! If you have any other questions about that area let me know, I can probably answer them all!
LOL as an added note: I left all my friends and family in Springfield to come here...for a job opportunity.
I found a free doctor rating website and put the name of my own doctor to test it out. I found it to be accurate.

btw- you don't have to enter a doctor's name- you can just search the OB/GYNs in your area. I did that for my area too, and found a negative review for a doctor I went to once. I didn't like that doctor either.

Sometimes the area specific questions don't get answers b/c it focuses on the few mom that are actually from that area, which leaves out 99% of the other moms. And from that handful from your area, they may not have a good recommendation or even may not see your question.
I second Gigi's answer - call the hospital and get a referral there.

O.k. I'm not from the area, but find one off the internet or nearest you. Better yet, go to your nearest hospital. Theree is usually an OBGYN there. They could recommend one for you and lead you to the right direction for infertility doctors. That's how I did it when I went overseas. Be positve you'll find what you're looking for.

I love my ob/gyn! Dr. Lisa Powell with Physicians for Women. The other doctors in that practice are really good too. I have two cousins who see Tama Franklin. My step-mom sees Dr. Hamilton. They're all really good. They're affiliated with Cox. You didn't say if your insurance is through Cox or St. John's. I have also heard great things about McCorkle and Stamps.
Btw, I saw your post earlier but I didn't respond because it sounded like you were specifically looking for fertility specialists. I would recommend finding an OB and they can refer you to a fertility specialist. I saw one in KC when I had a large uterine fibroid tumor that needed to be removed. Dr. Powell referred me to the specialist because I was trying to conceive when the tumor was discovered.
I am sorry I am not from your area. I do suggest that you conctact your former OB/GYN. If they are in the same state they may be able to recommend someone in your new location. Also, based on your insurance look in your plan to see whose covered in your new area? Which hospital would you use or that is the closest? I would look at that website and get a few names and then ask around your new area to see if someone knows about them. I know it's hard but you'll find someone.

I went to Primrose OB/GYN with my last baby and it was great. (Cox affiliated). Unfortunately my Dr. retired last year, so I'm not sure about the Dr.s that are there now, but my experience with the place was good. I didn't have fertility problems, but was considered high risk because of my age...37 at the time.

Sometimes it is hit or miss with a question that is geographical in nature such as this one. It's good you asked again, it will increase your chances of someone in your area seeing your question. Looks like you are getting some answers this time around. I looked back at your other questions and was surprised the biting question wasn't answered. Maybe people thought it was a duplicate as I remember fairly recently a few questions about biters in very similar situations. Anyway, hope that situation and this one is resolved soon for you!

I was going to suggest looking at the website for NaPro Technology trained doctors at http://www.fertilitycare.org/missourimedicalconsultants/, but there don't appear to be any doctors listed in your area. The next thing I checked was the One More Soul website, and there I found a list that included a couple in Springfield who teach natural family planning, probably through the Couple to Couple League, of which my husband & I are members. Try calling that couple to see if they have a suggestion of a good ObGyn. http://onemoresoul.com/nfp_by_zip/65801 They can also let you know about any NFP classes they may be teaching in Springfield. The CCL NFP classes can be helpful in both postponing pregnancy or in successfully getting pregnant. In fact, CCL provides a lot of help to couples struggling with infertility, even after the class series has been completed.

I am not in your area but hope to offer a little help. I am in Virginia and am fortunate enough to have an excellent medical college in the area (EVMS).
I struggled with pregnancy problems. After 3 miscarriages and a few surgeries (mostly through EVMS), I am the proud mama of a 3 year old. If you can, please look into med schools in your area. Once you find one, figure out what hospital they are affiliated with, then back into a doc that is affiliated with the hospital. I found that a "teaching hospital" has a lot more resources (i.e. money) to explore alternative or cutting edge treatments. I have no doubt that without their knowledge, skills and resources, either my daughter, myself, or both of us, would not be here now.

Hello, I don't live by you or I would recommend someone. I just wanted to answer and hope others do, too. I read plenty of questions and answers on here and it seems to work. Don't give up. Also, I think it's funny when people don't ask a queston, but simply make a statement. Make sense?
I recently moved as well and I would just google any doctor type, make some phone calls and ask questions. That's what I did. If you go once you can tell if you made the right decision. Good luck to you!
Sent your question to my friend in Branson. Nearly everyone in Branson goes to Springfield to the doc, they don't like the ones at Skaggs. I don't know if she will know anything but maybe.....
I would also recommend Primrose OB/GYN as Alicia S. suggested. I have not had any infertility issues, but Dr. Marcus McCorcle was a great doctor and I still see him for my yearly exams. My sister also sees Dr. McCorcle, but has also used Dr. Walker in the same office and she would definately recommend him as well. Hope this helps!
