Online School

I have been working with my son at home through a private school and he is doing very well, but we are lacking in some areas...like music and art. I am looking into online schools and I was hoping for other people opinions and comments on what programs they have tried.

Attending a public school has been tried and ruled out, so now I am considering K-12 or Connections Academy. Does anyone have experience with either of these programs or any other suggestions worth looking into?

EDIT -Becca - I have been reading through Connections Academy's information packet and it says that they are teamed up with Juilliard and have a brand new music immersion program available now.
Thanks

Why not pay for weekly piano or violin lessons? Our township community Ed programs offers weekly art classes or sign him up for a variety of classes like cake decorating, glass fusing, or pottery at local craft stores. Someone just told me that Home Depot or Lowes (I forget which store) also has free projects for kids.

When I did online schooling there was no music or art
If he is doing well maybe look at a music store and enroll him in lessons of some sort. Same with art. But you will not find those with an online school

( sorry, I'm on my phone, so sorry for errors ahead of time) we are doing k12 and while we are only 3 days in ( he's a kindergartener), I thought I would let you know, we have already taken upon ourselves to supplement the music with piano lessons ( so he will have theory/ music reading) and for the art we will be making sure he has plenty of opp opportunity for outside art immersion be it art projects at home, classes or visits to the museum, etc... not that I already know that the program it's lapping or not because I do not, but because every program needs someone's whether it's public, private, online or home... none are 100% inclusive of everything but I have to say so far we really like K12's quality especially in math and language arts. oh and we have also decided to supplement with a Spanish program and Bible lesson as well as the piano lessons and art opportunities. Hope this helps!

We are now 3 year veterans of K12. Look for live art and music experiences rather than going through them. We have loved their math, language arts, and history., and are still using them independently. (We ditched the online academy after 2 years.) But the K12 art (our experience is with 4th and 5th grade) is more an art history/appreciation course than a how-to - quality, but perhaps not what you're looking for if you have an elementary age child. And their music was just plain bad, in my opinion, unless you are looking for something that is strictly a singing course based on the solfege system (do-re-mi, as opposed to notes on a staff). As someone with extensive classical training, I considered it a waste of my and my kids' time, and went to bat with the online academy to have our formal piano and violin training accepted for credit instead.
