Online Sites for Selling or Buying Items

I have used Craigslist in the past. But lately it is horrible. I go in and search for what I am looking for. Then when I see a description that I want to read and open it, I cannot use my browser back button to get to the list. I have to click on the catagory and start all over. For example, I was looking for size 24 months the other day in the babies and kids by owner. When I looked at especific listing, to get back to the babies and kids list, I have to click on the category at the top and then do a search all over again. This takes too long. If you can tell me how to fix this, great. I am also looking for other free sites--beside freecycle which I check also--that has listings of people either selling or giving away or even trading kids stuff.

I also want to bundle some stuff and sell as we need the money. I cannot have a garage sale until end of May.

What can I do next?

napervilleyardsales.com aka bookoo.com (this is the national name)

By far is the BEST site to sell or buy stuff......WAY better and easier to use than craigslist

Look for groups in your area on Facebook. I've purchased a few things in my area through a local Facebook Swap-shop.

Also, try using the "backspace" on your keyboard to go back instead of the back icon. Or use a different browser.

I have had the best luck with a local Facebook group dedicated to children's resale. All of the moms are totally reliable, they communicate, no one flakes, and best of all, they don't haggle over price. Do some different searches through FB and see if you can find a similar group where you are.

Have you tried ThredUp.com? I've sold my kids' outgrown clothes this way, and it was easy and totally worth it. Keep in mind this is for name-brand stuff in very good condition; The other stuff could be sold using other methods. For receiving, I agree that your local Freecycle network is a great resource.

I like the "Just Between Friends" sales that take place twice a year. Go to www.jbfsale.com and register to be notified when their sales happen.

I do the right click thing. Also, bookoo.com is one (usually near military bases).

In my area, a local media outlet (tv and radio station) has a site where you can list/post things for sale for free. I haven't had any issues like what you describe for Craigslist. Maybe using a different brower might help.

I would try using a different internet browser. Firefox, Google, etc.

I have had great luck with Craigslist. We also sell on eBay but that is becoming a pain lately.

What about a children's consignment store? We have "Once Upon A Child" here and it's a great place to find and sell items.

Do you belong to a Mommy Group? What about arranging a clothing swap?

I'm not sure what browser you are using, but one trick you can use is this... (I use it with Firefox, but I assume it will work on other browsers, also.)

Instead of "clicking" on the link to open it, RIGHT CLICK the mouse, then click "Open in a new window". This will open that particular listing in a new window, and then, when you are finished reading the listing, just close that window, and your list should be at the same place.

I use that trick all the time on facebook, also.
