Ok so I am asthmatic but have it controlled for the most part. About the last week Ihave been spitting up clear mucus. Tonight I feel really tired and can't sleep. I am very irritable. Have slept most of the day. I am usually cough variant but I am not coughing. NO fever just tired and every little thing irks me to no end. I have had attacks that I can catch before going full blown attack but it has been so long ago I don't remeber if this is what it feels like. I don't feel like I am having problems breathing maybe a little but not alot. I have an inhaler and a nebulizer if I need it. Should I take my meds or give it some time. I also have a headache and it is not a sinus headache. I don't use chemicals in my house cause it is my trigger. I have had to use chemicals in my house to try to get ahold of a flea problem. I think that is getting me started but I am not full blown attack yet. Any opinions? Its just been so long I don't remeber if this is an onset or not. I have upped my allery meds and am taking a mucus pill. But am considering getting broncaid instead it is for asthma and mucus.

So What Happened?

I went ahead and got another inhaler and some bronkaid and took them. we went out of town for the weekend which helped alot. There is not more flea stuff in my house I am going to vinegar instead. I know that won't kick my asthma but right now my allergies are winning. I am still taking my allergy meds and doing it religously but I think it is more pollen than anything. I am making an appointment to get my allergy meds readjusted cause my allergies are winning right now. So I have to do something. My allergies haven't flaired up this bad in years. thanks for the help.

take your inhaler! those mucus pills do NOTHING for asthmatics! if you have a peak flow meter in the house test yourself! if it gets worse then take a treatment. if that worsens go to the hospital and have them give you a cocktail or some Prednisone. you should be fine after that.

Take your meds and go see your doctor. you don't want to wait for a full blown asthma attack! Good luck!

I've had asthma since I was a kid.
Take your Meds as a precaution.

You might also be getting a headache due to the flea chemicals.
Or you might be PMS'ing
Or you might be coming down with a cold, and this is just the precursor to it.

That is, if it were me... what I would gauge myself as being.
Knowing me.
In fact I have a headache too, and have been sniffling today too and am irritable.
Little very very slight wheezing. Barely evident. And I am gonna PMS any day now, I think.
But well, I have taken my Asthma meds. Anyway.

I would not use Broncaid.
Those things, are awful. At least to me.

Mucus, may be due to the chemicals and/or off-fuming of the chemicals in your home. Interiors of homes, often accumulate more pollutants, than the outside air.

I would really air out the home, if you can. Chemicals in household air can really get concentrated.
Or use an air filter/air purifier. Too.

My 10 yo granddaughter has asthma. Your symptoms do not sound at all similar to hers when she's having an attack. Her attacks always start out with difficulty breathing and/or a cough.

She nearly always has a lot of clear post nasal drip. The allergist says that is caused by allergies and not asthma.

Your symptoms sound like the ones I get when I sometimes take a decongestant for post nasal drip and a headache caused by environmental allergies.

I suggest you're having an allergic reaction to the flea stuff and probably isn't asthma. You can call your doctor's advice nurse and ask her opinion. I don't think it would hurt to take your asthma medicine and see if it helps, however.
