Opinions on Little Blessings Preschool or Wheatland Salem Academy?

I am doing some research for 4 year old/Pre-K programs and am wondering if any of you have experience with either of these preschools? Would love to hear your opinions, both good and bad. I am hoping for a program that does a good job preparing the children for kindergarden while having fun and teaching the kids through play.
Thanks so much!

So What Happened?

Thanks so much to everyone for taking the time to share their opinion of these two schools. I've toured both of them and realized how fortunate we are to be in an area where our kids have the opportunity to attend such great schools. I really thought they were both great but I think we will end up choosing Little Blessings. Again, I appreciate all of your thoughts!

Hi T.,

Is this T. Puk? I might be just guessing, but from the profile, you sound just like someone I know. It's Gail! My Sister-in-law sent all three of her kids to Little Blessings and it was wonderful. She couldn't say enough good things about the school and is always highly recommending it to other people. If I lived in the area, I would have send my daughter there.

Hi T.,
My son goes to 3 year program at WSCA
The one thing I find strange (after enrolling i came to know) is that the school does not have a diverse population... It is 99 % white population..

Today when we went to drop our son ,he wanted to see his dad who was outside the classroom ..There is emergency door near the classroom.. He was a a little distance from it ,when we called him he turned & stopped & when he was coming I saw his teacher hold him by collar of his jacket(which was still on as he as just come) & bringing to class..I would like to mention we are asian ...WAS THIS TOO RUDE ..are they discriminating... We didn`t know what to say"but just can`t forget it"..

I have my son at Wheatland Salem and he LOVES it (he is 4 yo). His teacher is great and he enjoys going to school every school day. I have also heard a lot of good thing about Little Blessings. Those were our top two choices as well. The reasons we chose WSCA had to do with both the class size and food allergy issues (my son has a lot of food allergies). Good luck with the research and choosing :)

Hi, T.!

All three of my children have attended Little Blessings. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Great loving, nurturing environment. There are so many extra activities, too. There is a dance studio, tumbling classes, enrichment classes and lunch bunch. You could even send them to 5 full days, if you needed to. My kids were really loved. I will be so sad when my youngest goes to kindergarden and I don't have a reason to be there all of the time.

I would be happy to answer any questions.

My two daughters both attended Little Blessings and LOVED IT! This after we had a horrible incident at Wheatland Salem that changed my daughter in a very negative way. She still freaks out (age 7) when we pass the place and talks about the irreversable incident that was totally avoidable on the schools part. It was unfortunate because through out the year instead of letting the teacher go, three others also pulled their children from the school. None of us got apologies or really our chance to be heard. Just for that, I would not go there, even if it was free.

I also have several friends who go to the Little Blessings and also love it. They not only have the pre-school, but dance classes, gymnastics, choir and all sorts of neat things for the kids...and even more for us moms!! My husaband and I liked it so much, we even switched churches to belong to this one!

My son attends Wheatland Salem and absolutely loves it! The teachers are absolutely wonderful. He loves to go to school and at the preschool age that is so important.
Both schools are wonderful. I chose W.S.C.A. because of the class size. Little Blessings has 15 or 16 children to 2 teachers, while WSCA has 10 to 1 teacher. Those extra bodies in the classroom really do matter in my opinion. It was the only difference that I found. I think that you will find Moms who love both schools and location is almost the same. Just decide on class size!
Good luck!

My oldest daughter is in three day preschool at WSCA and we love it. If you haven't taken the tour, you should. They have an amazing program that I am very happy with. The class size is great, the activities that they do are geared to furthering the kids' progress but they have plenty of play time. My daughter went in barely able to write her name (which I was still impressed by) and now she can write all of her letters and asks me to spell words as she writes out sentences.

And the songs she brings home are just too cute. But check it out yourself, you'll fall in love with the school when you see it.

I have two daughters who each had two years at Little Blessings Pre-School. I have nothing but rave reviews over their program. It is nurturing and kind while providing the solid pre-kindergarten base a child needs. I absolutely love the several different teachers we had. They all had something special to offer my daughters. The music element with Miss Lisa (she is the best) is an added perk. The kids have such a great day as pre-schoolers here. My third grader is actually in the gifted program at her school and her younger 1st grade sister seems to be following right behind her academically. I enjoyed this school so much that I came back and now teach ballet in the newly expanded space.
