We use the OxyBoost stuff. It has two containers that mix when you pull the trigger. It even got red wine out of our light beige carpet. It's awesome. I keep it in the cleaning closet for emergencies. Also, OxyClean spray (for laundry) in the blue bottle works wonders when I'm out of Oxyboost. Good luck! You might have to put it on and scrub it a bit.
I see that you have had alot of suggestions, But here is another. We bought our house last year, Wemoved here from CA. This is our very first house. So of course everything had to be perfect, But we have white carpet. So I make everyone take their shoes off. Well, my husband is a truck driver and works around grease. As all hubby's are, he thought that he was privileged and didn't take his shoes off. UUUGGGHHHH! So I had deisel grease all over my white carpet. Before I killed him he called all over asked for a miracle. Well, it was purple power, undiluted. I never heard of it until we moved here, But it took all of the grease out of the carpet. Of course yours has probably sat to long, But you never know. We got a gallon at dollar general for $4.oo. I hope this helps.
Hi! I just started purchasing products from a company called Melaleuca that has wonderful cleaning products. I had many stains in my carpet from my 2 year old daughter, and they work great. The best thing about them is that they are also enviromentally friendly and safe for my entire family. If you want more information about this, please email me at ____@____.com.
I work for a carpet cleaning/water restoration company. To everyone out there DON NOT USE ANYTHING WITH OXY CLEAN. Including Resolve. The stain may come out or look good but if you ever go to have your carpets professionally cleaned it will bleach it out. It is not good for your carpet. At All!!! We sell a carpet cleaner at my work that I have used before I even worked here! I don't want to sit here and advertise for my company so if you would like to know where to get it you can email me. ____@____.com
I hope this helps, But be careful what you use. The best thing to do until you decide what to clean it with is to keep it a little damp. Thanks jen
WINDEX! I LOVE IT! It seems to work on cleaning everything... including carpet!
I just read in my parenting magazine for juice on carpet, do as follows: make a 50-50 combo of Peroxide & water. Let it sit & soak for 15 minutes. Rinse with a combo of 1/4 cup white vinegar & 1/2 gal. water. Then rinse with plain water. I've yet to try it myself. I have used the Mr. Clean magic eraser on all my carpet stains & thus-far it's worked (*fingers crossed)!!
Hey R.!
I use Resolve (red cap) or Spot Shot (orange cap); they are for small and large stains and spots on the carpet. You have to use a white piece of cloth, rub the stains and that is! (no water, nothing else!) Then you can use any carpet cleaner for high traffic areas and vaccum.
I have used spot shot or resolve with coffee, red wine and other stains hard to remove.
Good Luck!
Just a thought! When we moved into our house about a year ago we had brand new carpet and a two year old!! The best thing I've found, crazy as it sounds, is Parent's Choice unscented baby wipes! We don't have a single on any of the carpet in the house. Those wipes take out anything!!! Also, 409 foaming carpet cleaner works (thats what my mom uses!)
I use a product called Sol-U-Mel. It's what we call our liquid gold in our company. There is more information on this at www.melaleuca.com. If it's something you're interested in let me know and I can get you some samples and a good deal on it. My website is www.homeofficemamma.com
I personally use this product by following around my two year old with the spray bottle. LOL She is really into popsicles and she got RED popsicle all over my newly apohlstered kitchen chairs. I sprayed after two days and it still came out. It actually disappeared while I watched!!!! It really is some good stuff.
oxyclean. it works great
rent a RUG DR from Marsh they are wonderful...
Rub some baking soda into the stain with a cloth, then spray with distilled white vinegar. It should foam it right out, and the vinegar doesn't smell at all once it's dry.
Hi R.!
My mom gave me this tip and it has worked on everythong by grape soda (which dried befoer I knew it was there).
Dilute Hydrogen peroxide with water (about 1/2 and 1/2). It doesn't take color out of carpet.....at least in my and my mother's experience....but I would still test it in a back corner of a closet or something. Lightly spray the spot and follow with a clean damp cloth. Keep the kids/animals away until it dries and then use you mild carpet cleanser and finally vaccum it. Sounds like a lot, but really its not. I use 409 Carpet cleaner for easy stuff and everyday cleaning, but the Hydrogen peroxide is great for the tough stuff!
I personally use bissel carpet cleaner mixed properly. Another great prodect is Called AWESOME concentrated multipurpose cleaner. The Dollar Tree sells them so does DEALS and many other dollar stores. It comes very concentrated with dilution on the back of the bottle. I use it on my furniture which is very dark blue and it has not discolored it. Pet stains in carpet and once again no discoloration. On walls it gets rid of just about anything including tobbacco. I am a non smoker and noticed discoloration in my apt prior to moving in and tried AWESOME and it took all that nasty nicotine right off the walls. I havnt had a problem yet also mr clean makes magic erasurs well also the dollar tree sells same product @ $1.00 for like between 3-6 of them depending on what they have in that week and they work exactly the same and save you money i have used them on all sorts of things carpets, walls, fridge, permanent marker on the wall(3 1/2 yr old son for that LOL) crayon and all kinds of things. so that is what i live by. jhope it helps!
YES! I can help!!! The answer is Biz. Go buy Biz (Kroger, Meijer...wherever you can get laundry detergent) and mix it to the specifications on the back for treating stains. Rub it into the carpet and use a carpet cleaner, spot remover, or shop vac to pick it back up. Rinse with water a few times. It works wonders on all stains! We don't have any onesies with breast milk baby poo stains because of Biz!
