Orlando, FL

I've been to Medieval Times a couple times in Kissimmee (just outside of Orlando.) It is worth going if you've never been. It's dinner theatre-esque with knights on horses and you cheer for the knight of your section. Very cool experience for the whole family.

We love to go to Florida and especially Disney. I don't know if you've visited the water parks at Disney but for teenagers they are a lot of fun. My husband and daughter took a helicopter ride while we were in Orlando and really had fun. There are a lot of putt putt courses and beautiful golf courses. Cirque de Solie (I know I spelled that wrong) has a performance that is only done in Orlando. Orlando has a place called Bethlehem (I haven't been but my friend who has loved it), Sea World and Midieval Times.

If you haven't visited the Kennedy Space Center it's very interesting. I didn't know which beach you were talking about. Ron Jon's surf shop is fun at Cocoa Beach, if that's the one you're going to and the space center is there as well. We stayed at a Hampton Inn property on the beach (but it was low season) that was reasonably priced.

As far as eating, there is a Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville, Hard Rock Cafe, Emeril's etc. These restaurants are either in Downtown Disney or Universal Walk. The shopping/restaurants etc are fun to spend the day in both those areas.

Hope you have a wonderful time. September is nice in Orlando area and still very hot. Once we went the end of September and I couldn't believe how really hot it still was.

my kids really enjoyed mideval times (sign up on line now and they'll start sending you coupons). gator land was okay, a LOT of gators. I personally could have spent more beach time.

You can try the flea market in Kissimmee or visit the old car museum

Downtown Disney- shops and some really good restaurants. Fun atmosphere. There is also a huge outlet mall if you have teenage girls :)

J., I would suggest Discovery Cove right across from Sea World. You can swim with real dolphins or just float along the lazy river and everything is inclusive and you have a totally different clientel.

Universal Studios would be great for teenagers, lots of roller coasters! The Harry Potter theme park in Universal is GREAT!. There is a restaurant called Fish Bones that is excellent. Elephant Bar is also really good and pretty neat too! I guess it depends what beach you are going to. If you are up for a little bit of a longer drive and head to St Augustine Beach, there is a lighthouse, a castle and some really neat historical things to do there, as it is the oldest city in the country. Just some things off the top of my head.
