Anyone in MPLS, MN area been to and could recommend an OT that works with kids with a Sensory Processing Disorder? I recently took my 5 year old to a Play Therapist for an assesment regarding his social skills/lack of etc. (long story) While talking to her she also suggested we have him evaluated by an OT, thinking maybe there is some Sensory Disorder playing into everything. She hasn't gotten back to me with any names, so I thought I would throw it out to you moms.

Thanks!

My 4 year old has SPD and I currently bring her to Therapy Connections for Kids. They have a few locations. I am very happy with her therapists! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me ____@____.com I also have started her on a Isotonix product that helps with digestive issues which have been linked to SPD and Autism. you can check out the product at www.marketamerica.com/katek and search the might-a-mins products it is the digestive enzymes. there has been quite a bit of scientific research done on these products and the method with which they are taken. If you have any questions, again please feel free to email. Thanks - good luck, I know what the daily struggle is like!!!! If you ever want to vent or talk, you know where to find me :)

You need to go to Therapy Place in Bloomington -- they are great. However, you might need a referral, so ask the therapist for one, or your child's doctor.

My dd had OT at St. David's. We went to the Mtka location, as we are in Eden Prairie. They have other sites, as well. She was about 3 1/2 at the time. She had OT for SPD and low muscle tone. She also went through their feeding program, due to her extremely picky eating. She was dx with anxiety and OCD shortly after that, and had therapy at the Alexander Center in Eden Prairie. St. David's was wonderful, I can't say enough good things about them. YEARS ago, I worked at St. David's and loved it then, as well. My dd is almost 9 now. Most of her issues are gone, but she still has a lot of anxiety. Good luck.
