My daughter has massive ear infections in both ears. She's taking the pink stuff but I got some new Triaminic last night for colds and pain reliever. I told her dad (who had her last night) to give her half a little dosage cup, which is two teaspoons. She slept like 12 hours. Then she woke up and that's when her dad called me saying she wasn't doing well at all. So that's when I told him to give her another dose. It dawned on me just now I told him to give her a little more because all the kid meds in the past didn't seem to work very well. Turns out the dose I said was for a 6-12 year old! I called him back real quick but he had already given her some.
Should we just let her sleep it off or should we take her to the hospital??
Wow, thanks guys for being so quick. Everything's ok, I called her dad back, who by the way is a paramedic himself and was asking ME if we should take her to the hospital! Real winner there ladies. Anyway, she woke up when I called him and she was moving around and drinking a lot of fluids, she loves that cold green tea of all things. But ya'll are right on, better safe than sorry. I had no idea Triaminic could be so strong! Thanks for letting me know the poison control number. I'm putting it in my phone now.

I would call the Poison Control Number and ask them what to do AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! I wish you the best.
I would call her doctor and see what they say. I wouldn't rush to the hospital unless they say to (or if she's acting very strange and you're extremely worried by her behavior). Then again, you can never be too careful. Good luck!
I'm glad she is ok! as mothers we do anything we can to take the pain away, and sometimes we over look the small stuff...and in some cases the big stuff...GOD Bless you and your family!

I'm glad she is OK thank God but in the future please use the phone and call doctor or poison control. Mommasourse is a good spot of information. But, even though the internet is pretty fast it may not of been fast enough.
Don't take chances like this call doctor, local hospital or poison control. There isn't any stupid questions to ask a professional the only stupid questions is the ones not asked.
Things like this happen you were lucky this time.

First how old is your daughter and i would put an imm call into her doctor and then probably go to the hospital

I wouldn't rely on mamasource for an immediate response if you are looking to see if your child needs immediate medical attention. Our Pediatrician always has a nurse on call. I can call anytime of the day or night. And it doesn't cost a thing. You need to see if you have the same service available for this very reason.

Anytime - 24 hrs a day - 7 days a week - if you have the smallest inkling that someone has overdosed or injested something poison - CALL THIS NUMBER! I hope you will print it out on a paper and keep it on your fridge. It could save a life.
They are educated responders with a world of knowledge. In my 30 yrs of motherhood, I have called on them a time or two and they have calmed my nerves and provided information that I could not have found so immediately anywhere else.
Also - before you give your child Triaminic, consult your pediatrician about what a child of her age should or should not have. There are over the counter meds that are not necessarily safe or effective for kids that young.

Call poisen control. 800-222-1222. It should be fine unless she is running feaver or unusally lathargic... Take her anyway...RSV has been terriable this year as well as the flu. Get her to a doctor. Good luck... Let me know how it goes.
I would call you pediatrician now. If you have a pediatrician that you are close to she talk to you about it over the phone to determine if her symptons are worthy of going to the ER. I would also try to wake up your child. The odds are even the pediatrician will tell you to go to the ER for 2 reasons... (1) Better to be safe that sorry
(2) CYA - Cover thier A** - Basically they will not want to be held responsible for anything bad that may happen if you do not take your child to the hospital.

Definitely call the doctor's office at the very least. Triaminic is supposed to be a very strong medicine for babies and toddlers, at least that's what my ped.'s nurse said.

Given the dosage that she has received in the last 12 -24 hours, you might wanna call her pediatrician ASAP. Just to be on the safe side. or call the local ER and see what they say. Hope that helps.

Well that is scary I know. A few months ago my 3 year son drank almost a whole bottle of Triaminic. Well, I freaked out and called poision control. The man was so nice to me. I was crying and so worried. He made me read the box to him. He told me that these medications are really safe for children but being he had taken most of the bottle, it was better to call them. He asked me if there was an ingriedant in this type of triaminic. Well, I looked at the box, and it said it was free of that certain ingriedant. So he said that was good. I don't remember the name of it. But about an hour later, Cole got really sleepy and he said he would. He also said he would either vomit or have massive diarhea. Well, he had massive diarhea about an hour later. About three times and girl, did he sleep good that night. He told me not to wake him up during the night, but just tickle his feet to make sure he responds. I'm not a doctor but I think she will be ok. If you are not sure, call poison control. They are really nice and mommies call them all the time.

I think you should call her doctor and tell her the situation and then let the doctor tell you what is best to do.
