You will love it...or hate it! I have this program and I LOVE IT. Got great results and I never even followed the diet plan. I just did the DVD's, and yes, it is a 6 days a week program...but you can customize it to fit your needs but your results will come slower if you do not work out 6 days a week. I am currently pregnant with my 4th baby so I had to stop working out ~ the exhaustion and nausea just will not allow me to work out and I am totally bummed BUT when I get the okay to exercise again (having a scheduled c-section) I will go back to my P90 X. I want my body back and I KNOW this program works! My sister ordered her P90X from Ebay. She and I believe that her DVD's are not "original" because of the quality. I bought mine directly from the Beachbody web site and I got a lot of extras: the chin up bar, the resistance bands, to name a few! I love this program and would never waste my money on going to a gym when I can get fantastic results in the privacy of my house. It's worth the money!
People have said it's a very intense program. It is .....if you have never ever exercised like this before. I purchased the P90 Master series before the P90X and in comparison to the two programs, the P90X is longer. Each workout is just under an hour, from warm up to cool down. The ONLY workout that is 1 hour and 30 minutes is the Yoga X. I always did my Yoga at night, after my children went to bed. I found it to be very relaxing and night time worked best for this particular work out. You can modify your workouts, you can work out to your own pace. YOU WILL lose weight while getting incredibly toned. I am 5 ft 4 1/2 inches tall and my normal weight is anywhere between 106-109 lbs. After my second round with the P90X, I got down to 105 lbs and my body was toned in the most beautiful way. I'm not talking about bulging muscle. No, I mean, muscle definition where it counts ~ legs, arms, shoulders, abs. If you know someone who has the program, borrow it! It is a costly investment to waste if you decide it's not for you.
Someone mentioned the Insanity program. I have seen the infomercials and I have a good friend who has it and incorporates the Insanity with the P90X. She described the P90X as a "cake walk" compared to the Insanity. Insanity is insane, and not for someone who is NOT used to exercising like that.
Debbie Siebers, the Slim Series (Slim in 6) is fairly intense. I have those DVD's as well. Debbie is very high on cardio with resistance (bands and weights) but her DVD's are long, much longer than the P90X. Whatever you decide on, commit to it and do not allow yourself to be discouraged. You can get great results from the comfort and privacy of your house. Good luck.
