Hey mama's!!! I asked a similar question before, but I'm hoping to get more or new answers.
Ok so my son is a big boy. He currently is growing into his weight (thank goodness!!) but I still can't find a pair of pants that will fit his giant cd butt! He is going to be a year old soon and when he is in disposables at daycare he wears 24 months to 3t pants. But i've tried putting him in those pants but they don't fit. SIGH! During the summer he would just wear rompers and I didn't have a problem, but now that it's almost winter I don't know what to do. What do you mom's do??? At home he usually doesn't wear pants since I don't have any that fit. HELP!! Oh the one and only pair of shorts that do fit is Old Navy 3t that I got at a thrift store, but when I went to old navy they didn't fit like those pair :(
There are old navy wide fit, but the local store doesn't have any. We do have outlet stores 45 min away I could try. Anyone know if they carry them?
***I would like pants for like nice occasions or jeans for when going out. Not a huge fan of wearing sweat pants while in public, but if that's what I need to do I'll do it :(

What can I do next?

I believe Oshkosh also has an online store and outlet stores. Have you looked at their stuff? I know Sonoma pants usually have the little elastic sizing strips that you can button so they might be good for you to try. Buy 'em bigger, size the waist with the elastic and maybe just get some iron on hemming tape for the bottoms. That way its temporary and you can make them longer as needed.

Oh and I find overalls are nice for cloth diaper babies. They're a bit roomier in the butt. My son usually wears them when we're just out and about, you can get them in cords, khaki and denim so they can look dressy and casual as needed. We usually go for the lined ones since we're in a pretty cold area for winters.

I'd say sweat pants as well (get them big and the shrink shorter). Lots of stores have web sites if they are not near you (Sears, Kmart and JC Penny's have inexpensive toddler clothes that did fine for my big-for-his-age son). Gap and Children's Place and Health Tex run a little bigger than other brands as well. I have seen Health Tex at Wall Mart but the other stores have outlets near me. I have seen slim and husky sized clothes for older boys but I don't think for toddlers. Maybe you know someone who sews a little bit who can help you out? Elastic waist pants are not a hard thing to sew (I've made a toddler size pair in an evening). Or maybe you can get bigger size pants and cut/hem the legs.

my daughter was a really big baby, and tall as well. I bought hannah anderson pants, they are made to fit over diapered bottoms! I also really liked these other pants, I am pretty sure they are called Zappos, I will check later and repost if i am wrong. They have a really stretchy waist and fit really well. (both of these are stretch fabric) The problem with buying too large of sizes are that the legs are way to long, but that is another option and you could hem them. Wall mart boys sweats also are really great and roomy, I got some of those for my daughter last winter when it was cold, for around the house and stuff. Jeans still don't fit my daughter right, she is 22 months and really slimming out, but still solid, and I don't want her to be uncomfortable.

I would try sweat pants, the cotton type. They are usually roomier than most pants.

I cloth diaper and we use sbish pants -they are made of interlock and fit over the fluffy diaper you are referring to. They are stretchy but still look nice. You should be able to find them used on spots.

or you could email Katie @ Kooshie Keister and she might be able to make some custom interlock pants for you.

They are worth the money as you will get a great deal of use out of them. hth

Have you looked on the Internet? Some brands carry "chubby" sizes.

One thing that might help at home, in the cooler months is "baby legs'.. google that phrase and it will show you tons of options. They are basically thigh high warm stockings but without the "foot". My grandsons wear them all of the time in the winter...it will keep his legs warm without having to fit on the "bum"!!!

I've known a couple of big babies that wore a lot of overalls (cuffed at the bottom or hemmed). Worth a try.
