I'm looking for suggestions on good parenting books for toddlers. I am an avid reader and I'm always looking for resources to be a better parent to my 2 1/2 year old daughter. Thanks!

Parenting with Love and Logic by Jim Fay and Foster Cline. Definitely the BEST parenting book out there. Wish I had read it when my first child was young, but unfortunately I didn't get ahold of it until I was on my 4th child!

I really like The Science of Parenting by Margo Sunderland, which helps explain the development of children in general and how we can help support healthy social/emotional development for our children. It's also great because it describes their abilities/limitations and helps us dial our expectations in to that. It's delightfully easy to read and informative.

Many others love Harvey Karp's "Happiest Toddler on the Block" and another called 123 Toddlers (or something like that). I haven't read either of these, but hear good things about them.

I liked the book "How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk". It is not only directed towards toddlers though, but I think it is a good idea to start effective communication early on.

I recommend Positive Discipline books. They provide parenting tools that you may find useful to add to your arsenal ;-)

I also heard good things about Harvey Karp, but have not read his books.

Hi Y.,
If you are a Christian and are looking for a great Christian parenting book I would highly recommend "To Train Up A Child" by the Pearls. They also wrote "No Greater Joy" which is awesome.

God Bless

My favorite: Mini-Methods or Madness by Janie Peterson. I recommend it every chance I get! You can purchase direct from her (www.behavenkids.com) or Amazon.
