Party Favors for 1St Birthday?

Make play dough and put it in little baggies. ALso include things like crayons and little coloring books that you can buy at the dollar store. And maybe a treat of some sort, goldfish crackers, pudding cup, teething biscuits for the little ones, etc.

We love to get books in goodie bags. I have given out a chocalate lollypop and an age appropriate book.

Just some quick thoughts: bubbles, sidewalk chalk, stickers, plastic hand clappers. There's a great $1 section at Joann Fabrics. They have things like make your own puppets, crayons, etc. This may be a good place to stock up on miscellaneous things and throw it all into a sand bucket. You could even use a paint pen or letter stickers to write the child's name on the bucket.

I tend to go for snack items. The bags of little toys that my son gets, usually get lost in the car on the way home. Fruit snacks, Handi-snacks crackers and cheese, individual packages of cookies, a juice box, goldfish crackers, etc.. Sometimes I put one toy or stickers or something inexpensive. Have fun.

I've also found that kids love balloons. The mylar kind are safe for kids under 5 (not the latex ones). They also last several weeks, so they can be a fun reminder of the event. I got mine at the dollar store, so it was really reasonable. My daughter's balloon has lasted over a month and she still points to it every day.

last year i bought a couple of the mini multi-packages of play dough and a bunch of little plastic cookie cutters , i put those in goodie bags with fruit snacks and stickers , the kids loved them .
this year for my girls (they will be 3) i am going to buy some of those little terra cotta pots from the craft store , some soil (put it the pots with saran wrap on top and a rubber band to seal) , and flower seeds-girls, herb seeds-boys (in little zip loc bags) so they can make their own little flowers/plants to watch grow over this fall. i thought that would be fun for them:)

We are having a 1st birthday for my daughter soon and i ordered hersey bars that say her name and birthay.. They also say I AM ONE!!!!!!They are kind of like the birth announcement ones that say ITS A GIRL .. I thought it was neat..

Balls - bouncy ones, ones from Target or those Fisher price roll-arounds (expensive so would probably depend on how many kids you were buying for) or Bubbles.

These are all good ideas. If the party is this month, you could give small pumpkins. Another idea is little bath toys and "color" tablets for the bath (they sell little favor bags of the tablets, but my kids have also been given the individual tubs, which come in a package of 3.)

I've also given different gift bags for older kids and toddlers depending on the mix of kids and ages.

When my daughter was younger some things I used:

small box of crayons
small notebook that would fit in a goody bag
little coloring books
bubbles
punching balloon ~ dollar store
stickers ~ nothing fancy or expensive. Maybe something to follow the theme if you have one.

They are all useable items unlike little plastic toys that the kids will not like, and it works for boys and girls.

I got a ton of crayons and notebooks from Walmart when the school supplies were on clearance after school started.

I have 4 kids and always do goody bags too!! I try to minimize the candy by getting the little guys a water or sport bottle and putting in it a cool pen/pencil or big crayons and a mini notepad. Maybe a sucker - they usually love the water/sport bottle because it can actually be used later on. You can also find decent priced art supply or plastic boxes - that easily hold a few things.
