We're having a home birthday party for my about to be 9 YO daughter. We usually have a bounce house and some other fun entertainment, etc. Money is tight so I'm looking for some cheaper entertainment/games/crafts for the party. The party is scheduled for 2 hours so I guess I need some things that would be fun, simple for 8 - 9 year olds. What do 9 year olds do? TIA for all of your help.

I was just at Michael's yesterday, and they have a TON of arts-n-crafts stuff on sale. AND, I think they are having a huge sale this Saturday morning, as well. I have an almost 9-year old neice, and she loves to do arts-n-crafts type stuff- beads/jewelry making, mosiacs, etc...
Hope you all have fun at the party! What about a scavenger hunt around your house or neighborhood or a nearby park?? You might do some relay races, or some hula hooping to music or some jump roping. My kids used to love to make a cake walk, but we used other prizes (from the $1 store) instead of cakes.
If the party is all girls you could always go pick up some finger nail polish and hair things and let the girls do each others nails and hair. All girls love to do that. Throw in some crafts and you will have a great party the girls will talk about forever.
