Party Prizes / Gift Bags?

My daughter will be having a putt-putt party for her 13th birthday next weekend. I’m hoping to get ideas for party gifts. I was going to award a prize for lowest score and highest score. Is there anything else I can award? In addition to that – I also need ideas for prizes?! It’s a boy / girl party – so maybe something that would be appealing to both boys and girls?
What about party bags? Should we do something? We want to thank them for coming and for their donations (she asked that no gifts be brought – instead, she asked for non-perishable foods to be donated to a shelter). Maybe just a good old fashioned, hand written “thank you” card? Hand written anything is a dying art!!!
IF any mamas think a party bag would be OK – any ideas of what to put in it?

What can I do next?

I think that prizes for lowest score, highest score and any "Hole in Ones" would be fun. I recently went to a party that had a scavenger hunt theme...the prize for the wining team was $10 gift cards to a frozen yogurt store, the 2nd place team won $5 Dairy Queen cards, and 3rd place team won the movie theater style boxes of candy that you can get at Walmart for .97, and then everyone received a decorated sugar cookie (iced) with the birthday girl's monogram on it, individually wrapped in little cello bags with some curling ribbon.....everyone was thrilled with their goodie bags/prizes.
Have fun!

prizes or giftbag...How about gift certificates for the kids to come back on their own for another round of putt-putt? The course might even give you a discount as part of the party package. That would be great along with the hand-written thank you.

I have never understood the idea of giving gifts to those who come to a party. Is it not enough that you are supplying fun, games, and presumably food and drinks? The kids get a gift too? I have never given "goodie bags."

I think a simple, "Thank you for coming to my party, and a well deserved "Thank you for inviting me," is all that is required.

I would not do party bags for 13 yr olds. The prizes for High Score and maybe for whoever gets a Hole In One or the most Holes in One should be sufficient.

I think kids still "expect" to have goodie bags especially if you have the party at HOME. However if you are paying for X number of kids to play putt putt, feeding them cake & icecream etc then I personally don't think you have to give them goodie bags. The hand written thank you cards are a lovely idea as is the shelter donating.

When I did goodie bags I would do dollar store finds - kids just love free stuff. They don't care if it breaks in a week or so. I usually put themed erasers, candy, stickers (not the whole sheet - divide them), tattoos, Silly Bands (when in fashion LOL), make some book markers on the computer, glow sticks never go out of style, mini bouncy ball, mini playing cards, post-it notes.

As for prizes - How about little trophies? Look on line on oriental trading, places like that.

Hope this helps

candy, animal erasers or something animal related to go with the shelter idea.
prize wise - a gift card - itunes, starbucks, - you can do any amt. Maybe a really ugly stuffed animal for the low prize.
