If you are still looking for a pediatric dentist, I have recommended CityKidsDental - Dr Mary before. She is on Western Ave at the Brown Line stop, or there is usually street parking outside her office. It isn't Downtown but we travel from Downtown to her office 10-15mins max or we could take the el. The staff are all patient and kind, and cater to the kids with little television screens above the chairs with a video playing. They work slowly at the childs pace, and explain as they go. You can sit at the end of the chair and reassure your child as need be. My son wouldn't open his mouth the first time we went, she managed to get a look in though. Now after a couple of visits he has had xrays and cleaning done. He likes the goody bag afterwards too.
