I am looking for a dentist for my kids that accepts a payment plan. My daughter's father has horrible insurance and she needs work done asap and its going to be $600. I dont have $600 and my dentist does not make paymet arrangements. My daughter is 8 and needs 2 fillings and 2 extractions asap. Can anyone help out with a good dentist, that also accepts payment arrangements. Thanks

What can I do next?

I do not mean to step on any toes, but I DO NOT recommend Golnick. We went there for a few years and I feel like this place is a puppy mill for kids denistry. They are not that patient with children needing a little extra time, and they'd rather just drug them and strap them to the papoose board than give them an extra 5 minutes in explaining what they are doing. I had the son for most visits, and we left after a few years of being frustrated with this office. If the work couldn't be done in the 1/2 hr - 45 min. time slot, they'd tell us they'd have to stop and us come back later. My child would cry for cleanings since she did not want to step into this office. One of their female assoc. worked on my child once. She spoke Portugese the entire time with the dental hygenist, freaking my then 3-4 yo out since she couldn't understand a word. My hubby was in the room at the time as well, as it frustrated him quite a bit too since he didn't know what was going on.

My 8 yo has had 4 crowns, 21 fillings, and just had an extraction. Her dental issues started before she was 3 yo.

We are currently seeing Dr. John Santoro at Denistry for Children and have been for the past 2 years. He use to be in Dearborn, but that office closed. He is now only at his main office in Riverview...on Sibley between Allen and Fort. He is WONDERFUL! He takes his time with each child and spends as much time as needed to get the job done. My child has been fine with him since day one, never the fear like at the other office.

I know it's a hike, but the drive to see Dr. Santoro is worth it to me when I don't have my child stressing out over the dental work they'll need.

Dr. Santoro's # is ###-###-####. Feel free to tell them The Daniel Family referred you. They are open M-F, but not sure if they close before 3pm on Fridays. On their machine, they have an afterhours number as well. They've come in just for us with no issues when my daughter got an abcess after hours.

If your child doesn't need a gentle hand, the other office may be fine.

For myself go to Family Dental in Livonia. Dr. Grunberger is great. She sees everyone. They are right at 96 and Middlebelt.

I personally see the doctors at Preferred Dental Group in Livonia. They accepted payment terms from me on my very first visit - no questions asked.

They are a really great office.

I don't really care for Golnick either. When my daughter was 17 months old she chipped her two front teeth trying to climb out of her crib. I was very upset and called a family friend who is a dentist. She came over to check on her and recommended Golnick for the follow up. We have since had her teeth bonded twice and had one cavity filled. They just don't seem very child friendly. The hygentists there are very nice but I am just not impressed with the dentists. I also get the feeling that they are scared to death that you are not going to pay them. You must pay for all services upon arrival and if you need additional work you always have to make another appointment. Also if you work the latest appointment is 3:30pm-so good luck with that also. I've heard great things about Santoro also-we are definately going there for her next cleaning :)

Have you thought about applying for medicaid. They have excellent benefits through MIchild program. and it is based on income level. So it does not mean that you have to be with a very low income to apply. I think it is worth it.

I took my daughter who is very aprehensive of the dentist, or I should say freaks out at the dentist! To Dr. Farah Khan in Canton...the phone number is ###-###-#### address is...455535 Hanford Rd. Canton. My daughter had to have two silver caps on her back teeth and they were all wonderful there. It was very expensive because my insurance didnt pay much at all and they did let me make payments. Good Luck!

Hi K. -
i think Golnick Pediatric Dental is great! It is a Father/Son practice along with a couple female associates - they have all been wonderful. They have offices in Taylor and West Bloomfield.
Here's their website: www.golnickpediatricdentistry.com
Good Luck!
