We are moving from Dallas to south Arlington and need to find a new pediatrician. We would like to find the following in a pediatrician:

(1) someone who is part of a practice that has a nurse or someone on call at all hours to answer questions and concerns;
(2) someone who prescribes antibiotics when necessary, but not for things for which they aren't effective (like cold viruses);
(3) someone who is supportive of a parent's choice regarding health care (for example, we get our children immunized, but don't always get flu shots, and need someone who will be supportive of our choice).

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I go to Dr. Eva Carrizalez. She is FANTASTIC! She specializes in pediatrics and is also the head Dr. at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Her ENTIRE family are doctors and nurses who specialize in pediatrics and they are very friendly and caring people who don't discriminate against people's views about child rearing. Dr. Carrizalez put a tube down my son's throat when he was born, (born 2 weeks early and his lungs weren't ready) and she kept a close watch on him until he got well. I fully trust her based on my experiences with her and her knowledge as a doctor. Her office number is ###-###-####.
About me: SAHM of a 20 month old angelic baby boy!

Dr. Clive Daniels is actually Mansfield, but on the border of S. Arlington. We go to him from S. Grand Prairie because he is excellent and so is his nurse and the rest of the staff. I was able to talk to a nurse at 11pm on Christmas Eve once. He doesn't push the flu shot on me although they do offer. They have a brand new office and are well staffed. I have also seen his PA and she is terrific. Often when I call to ask a question I don't even have to leave a message, the nurse frequently answers directly. I have heard excellent things about his partner Dr. Mann as well.

That describes my pediatrician exactly. Her name is Dr. Prater and she is in Mansfield. If you'd like her number, let me know.

Hi S. T.,
I have a suggestion (or 2). Dr. Robert Mann has been my children's pediatrition since my son was born (over 7 yrs ago). He loves the kids and he has a nurse practitioner available as well. He just moved to a new office in Mansfield. (I haven't been to the new location... yet!) He shares the office with 2 other Cooks children's phys's (Dr. Clive Daniels and Dr. Melvin Joki). His new office address is 701 Matlock Rd. Mansfield, TX 76063. Phone # ###-###-####. My kids love Dr. Mann and I am very pleased as well. Hope this helps.
P.S. Wait time in the office is usually less than 15 minutes.
S.

Dr. Walter Leon and his associates are great! We've been going to their office (on Matlock and Mayfield) since my baby was born. Give their office a call at ###-###-####. Good luck.
