M.
We love My Pediatrics. We see several of the drs there. They have weekend hours - we have been on Sundays numerous times. Best of luck!
I am looking for a pediatrician for my new arrival. I want a Dr. who will be available (or someone in the practice) when she is sick. So after hours and weekend hours are a plus. I am also looking for some one who won't push every single vaccine available.
I have asked other Mom's I know, I keep getting different names. One one has come up twice which makes searching the traditional way difficult.
Thanks for all the responses from everyone.
I delivered my baby girl 12-13. I had interviewed 2 peds at that time and pretty much chosen one, based on practice philosophy and location. So far I am happy. I will probaby have most of the vaccines given after doing research, but this ped is willing to space them out for me so she doesn't get them all at one time. I am willing to share the name of ped. who is a private practioner if anyone is interested.

I have 3 children and am expecting my 4th in Dec. Our current pediatricians are Dr. Earl Smith & Dr. Christine Canody ~ ###-###-####. They are awesome...extremely knowledgeable, and they do not prescribe unnecessary drugs. I have yet to meet a doctor who doesn't recommend the routine vaccinations, and I'm not sure what their stance is on them, however they will take the children as walkins during the week if they are sick, and they are open on Saturdays until 1pm. I have several OB nurse friends who have chosen them as their child's pediatrician based on their working experience with them at the women's hospital.
Good Luck!
Pediatric Health care Alliance, there are tons of offices around and they are available afterhours 7 days per week. I currently utilize the North Carrollwood office, the wait is minimal and Dr Patel is wonderful
Hi! I'm new to the area also and am searching as well. A Dr. Wilde has been recommended twice to me. I looked him up and he does seem wonderful. I' haven't visited him though. I did go to an after hours clinic called Night Owl which was wonderful! It's a nice alternative to the big ER. They said they treat broken bones on down to suspected ear infections which is what my son had. They were quick to get us in and thorough, plus, the staff had a great bedside manner. My son was at ease with them. :-), Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood.
I was also looking for a Ped recently and got a good rec. from several different people. One of which used to like in Spring Hill and said that Dr. Terrone Dr. Piduru from Babies and Beyond in Spring Hill have started a new practice in TAMPA on Van Dyke. Many of her friends are considering relocating to her practice, because they loved Dr. Terrone so much. The office is called Van Dyke Pediatrics,PL. They are accepting new patients ages 0-18. I have taken my 2 year old several times and it WAS GREAT. Since they just started their own practice, they do all the work themselves. I didn't have to wait (not even for a minute). They have always gotten me in same day! And my daughter LOVES Dr Terrone - how often does that happen? I also had been going to Pedialliance and was VERY unhappy with the service.
They offer
Same Day appointments
Well child care
acute/cronic
immunizations
free prenatal consults
It is located at 4927 Van Dyke Rd., Lutz fl 33558

We also use Pediatric Healthcare Alliance. We use Dr Perkins too. I love her. We've seen her since my daughter was 3 days old. She is really great with her.
They have offices all over the Tampa area. We've seen Dr Hartman and she's really nice. She works at the Wesley Chapel office. We've also seen Dr Hauser at the Carrollwood after hours office. She's great too. They do have office hours on Saturdays and Sundays. They also have several offices open in the evenings 7 days a week.
I'm not sure what their view is on vaccinations, because we've had all of them that were recommended.
Their website is www.pedialliance.com
Hi! We use Pediatric Healthcare Alliance. They have several offices around Tampa. They also have evening and weekend hours (By appointment only - but we have never been denied). I don't know how they are about vaccines because my son was past all that when we started going to them. They have a lot of doctors in their practice - some good, some not so good (in my opinion). My son's assigned doctor is Emily Perkins - she is very gentle and soft-spoken. She is at the office on Fletcher Ave near USF. Good luck - I know how important that first doctor can be!
I can recommend Pediatric Partners on St Isabel. My kids have been going there since my daughter was born - she is now 13. The doctors there tell you what they think and then discuss it with you. You are in on the decision making process. They have after hours clinic and weekends too. Dr. Baade and Dr. Torres are my favorites but Dr. Reiner an Dr Lewis are good too. Also, I can recommend their Carrollwood office - Dr. Yee is wonderful there. The St Isabel number is ###-###-####. They take most insurances and Cheryl - the office manager is really great.

I take my daughter to HealthPoint on the corner of Waters and Dale Mabry. Her dr is Dr Boneta and she is great. I love the staff, the nurses and the Dr. She is good about answering questions and I am always able to get her an appointment fist thing in the morning whenever she has woken up sick.
Good luck!
