My friend was on prescribed painkillers for all of her 1st preg. and most of her second. Kids are fine!
I had to take percocet during my pregnancy from time to time and it has been constantly in the back of my head the possible consequences to my baby. My doctors have assured me over and over that my baby is and will be fine and the only thing that could possibly go wrong is that the baby could be born addicted to the percocet but that that is not an issue since I did not have to take it all that much. So my question is did anyone else take any PRESCRIBED narcotics during pregnancy and have a healthy happy baby in the end. I am getting close to my due date and just nervous for my baby. Thanks.

I never took any while pregnant, but I did take the percorcet after my c-sections and nursed both babies. The dr said it was fine. I would think if you can take it while nursing and they are still getting the meds, then taking it while pregnant if the dr. says its ok it ok too.
A., I had to take darvocet while I was pregnant with my daughter and son for my teeth. My children are great!! With the baby almost here, I wouldn't put to much stress on yourself worrying about it. If you have enough faith and trust in doctor then you would trust they would not give you anything to harm your child. Good luck.
I actually had to have surgery during my pregnancy and was on it and morphine. My baby was 100% fine. I wouldn't worry about it. That's also one of the narcotics they give you during child birth if you didn't get an epidural.
I never took anything while I was pregnant, but my next door neighbor has a lot of health problems. While she was pregnant she took Ultram (a painkiller) every single day and was on Morphine for about 2 months because of her health problems. Her baby turned out fine. If the doctors tell you it is ok I would trust them. Doctors are so afraid of being sued now adays, I don't think they would give you anything harmful. Good luck to you and your baby!
