Perimenopause/hormone Imbalance issues...need a Good Doctor

I have been dealing with radical mood swings. There are certain times when I just get so angry at little things...but it's not all the time...so I'm sure it's hormonal.
I am reading a book "The Hormone Survival Guide for Perimenopause". The symptoms the author describes are very applicable to me. She mentions that a hormone test is vital for determining the correct course of treatment.
I have a GP who I don't think is experienced in this area. And the GYN I saw just prescribed a BC pill without any tests (I saw her before reading this book). I prefer to see someone who specializes or has some experience working with woman for perimenopause.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a doctor in the Cleveland area who specializes in natural hormone treatment for perimenopause issues?
Has anyone had experiences (good or bad) to give me advice on how to deal with this issue?
Thanks!

I have gone to a osteopath in Richfield. Her name is Cheryl Leuthhauser. She has helped me a lot over the years. YOu also need to get your thyroid tested to make sure that is not involved. YOu can have your regular doctor do all the tests and take the results to the other dr. YOu can also request you dr to do the hormone tests. I asked my dr years ago and he did it. DO not be afraid to ask for the tests and explain why you think you need the tests. Dr CHeryl's practice is called Integrative Wellness. Here is her website.

SHe has helped me with a lot of allergy issues too that have contributed to some of my perimenopause issues. ALso I know that many dr's use bc pills to handle perimenopause issues. I have several friends that were prescribed that as well but a really low dose as to not cause any problems. I prefer not to take pills if I don;t have to. Vitamins could also play a good role here. Good luck to you.

I have heard a lot of really good things about Clinical Apothocaries in Medina. The specialize in Natural Hormones. Phone ###-###-####. I believe Jeff Potter is the man to speak to there. Good Luck!

The docs at OsteoMed II in Middleburg Hts are osteopaths that work with homeopathic(natural) remedies for all kinds of medical issues. Also, my GYN, Dr. Alton at SW hospital is great too!

The Women's Health Center at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus has several doctors that are experts in this area. I was going through the same thing a few years back and an increase in calcium and something called Beelith (a magnesium supplement) is what helped me. To get an appointment you call and talk to a scheduling nurse and based on your risk factors, symptons, etc. she tells you which doctor(s) are a fit for you. (They will do blood tests.) You can check them out online before you call. Good luck.
