I am about 5 weeks pregnant with my second child. The Dr who saw me through my first pregnancy isn't seeing patients anymore. So I need a new Ob/Gyn. I called a couple Dr's but no one will see me since I'm 'high risk' (because I take an anti-depressant, which makes no sense to me). I have tried looking online for Perinatologists (Ob's that deal with high risk pregnancies) but so far all I can find are How to become one and The definition. Does anyone know where I could get more info? Thanks in advance for any response!
Tulsa OBGYN has a perinatologist in their office. I also think DR.Gray handles high risk pregnancies. She is great and I liked the perinatologist when I had to see her also. Sorry I can't remember her name. Good luck!

My daughter was diagnosed as bi polar when she was 15. She is now 22. When she was 21 she found out she was pregnant. There were quite a few ob gyns who would not see her because she was taking Ablify for mood stabilization and Cymbalta.
She started seeing Dr Daniel ____@____.com saw her all the way through her pregnancy. On July 30 2008 she delivered a healthy 6lb 8 oz baby boy. Mom and baby are both healthy and happy today
I don't know a perinatologist but I do know of some great gyn/ob's. I know at least a couple of them have seen patients on anti-depressants. You didn't say what type of insurance you have so I don't know if these will be valid but here goes. Dr. Tran at warren clinic is very good, she was partners with my old dr. I really like her. she is a mom and totally gets it. Dr. Zanavich is at St. Johns and a great dr. Just about anyone in his practice should be ok. Judy Blackwell is the most board certified dr in the area. She is fantastic. She does vertility but also has non vertility patients. I can't imagine she would have a problem with your meds. SHe is a think still at Hillcrest but may have privileges at other hospitals as well. Are y you telling the receptionist about your meds? I wouldn't. Many times receptionist THINK they know more that what is truly accurate about their practice/drs. I don't know how many times I have been given wrong info by the receptionist/nurse,( which by the way in a lot of practices these days they are just med techs not nurses). Hope this helps~
I wanted to tell you that I agree with the advice to see Dr Cole Nilson at Tulsa Women's Health Care. He delivered all 4 of my kids. I have been on antidepressents and/or anti anxiety meds for years and he saw me through all of it. You won't regret meeting with him. Congratulations!!!

I delivered my second baby with Dr. Randolph Elliott in the South Tulsa Women's Clinic, just south of St. Francis Hospital. I have been on anti-anxiety medicine for over five years, and my first pregnancy ended in pre-eclampsia at 37 weeks, but they didn't have any issues seeing me. I really like this OB and office. Oh, and my kids are 18 months apart. It's hard work, but it gets easier after about 6 months!
I would think that any OB-GYN office could recommend a high risk doctor to you. My Dr. is Robin Cox in Tulsa, OK. Her office number is ###-###-####.
