OK so I got my period last thursday and it started very light and never got heavy like normal but WON"T go away! Its still so light and still light brown with a tiny bit of pink but it won't stop. I've been on the pill for 5 months if that matters. Anyone ever have this happen or know why it does?

What can I do next?

Its only been a week so I wouldn't personally be alarmed yet.
Something like this did happen to M. when I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen. Bled lightly for a whole month. The dr. said it was a 'bleed through' and that the pill was not strong enough for M. or some such and changed my medication.

When it happened to M., it was a thyroid problem. You may want to ask your doctor if that's a possibility in your case. It's odd that you'd have that much breakthrough bleeding on the pill, but I guess it's been known to happen. Are you on a super low dose? Has it been happening the whole 5 months like this?

this happened to M. when i started taking bc right after my pregnancy. i was put on a low hormone pill b/c i was breastfeeding and i would bleed sometimes constantly, but not heavy, sometimes for a few days and then it woudl stop for a day or two and start back up. This went on for about 3 months. I J. recently switched pills and within 2 days the bleeding stopped. I would talk to your doctor and see if they will let you try a different pill.
