I did. With my second child, I had one period after I was pregnant. It was just a normal period, but I was quite pregnant. J.
A couple days ago, I started feeling really nauseous and having bad indigestion. I had cold chills for a little while as well. I feel a bit better but I still get nausea off and on and feel really tired. I thought I must be pregnant and was ready to take a test. I, however, started my period yesterday. I thought either I am just a bit stressed from some lack of sleep or that maybe this is just a really bad period. I don't normally get this sick on my period. Any one experienced something like this or had a period while being preggo? Thanks for any help!

I sometimes do have a period like that, and occasionally I will even get sick on my stomach, esp if it coincides with periods of stress. Stress can do some strange things to your body. I would say that if it is a true period, it's not likely that you are pregnant. You can be pregnant and have spotting, but to have a "period", you would have had to pass an unfertilized egg. Basically you can't be pregnant AND have what we know as a "period". If you are still concerned, I would take a HPT just to be certain, but it sounds like you are not pregnant.
This month I got a stomach and chest cold the same day I started my period. It was as if the virus waited until my body was weakened by my period to attack.
You're breasts will probably tell you if you're pregnant. Are they full or floppy?
When my sil went to her first dr's appt with baby #3, her dr gave her an ultrasound because she thought she was further along than 8 wks. She wasn't but the dr said she could have been another month even though she'd had a period. So it's definitely possible.
I had a friend who went to the doc because she thought she might have an ovarian cyst and she found out she was 3 months pregnant! She continued to have her period until the baby came, about 6 weeks early. Go get checked out.
when i first got pregnant, i felt like i had the flu and had light bleeding. it might be worth a test.
O.M.G. I just went thru the samething however i ended up at the hospital on sat july the 4th they did a urine test that came up negative but my blood test came up positive. i was there for 6hours for them to tell me that they dont know what is going on. i followed up with my dr thurs 7.9.09 they did a urine test that came up negative but said that i could have been prego but aborted. So anyway i have a appt with my female dr on the 23rd. because this was just my regular dr and we didnt go into it too much. let me know what your out come is. Thanks, T.
My mother told me that she had her period for two months when she was pregnant with me. So, I know it's possible. I would take a test either way.
I had a period the entire time I was pregnant with my first child. That is why I had no clue I was even pregnant till I was almost 4 months along AND I was on the pill. Imagine my shock. It could be you're pregnant, it may have been a bug but it wouldn't Hurt to check it out. BTW I delivered a beautiful, healthy baby girl. However, I did have problems with yeast infections but that cleared up before she was born or else they would've done a c-section. When in doubt check it out.
Years ago, I have asked my sister about that question. My sister is a medical doctor and she said that is one thing that even doctors cannot figure out. What I have noticed, because a friend of mine's mom had her period until she gave birth. Her sister now an adult, who actually was in her mom's womb at that time, has a very thin uterus and easily has miscarriages. I think that is the effect, if a person is pregnant and continuous to have her period, the baby, if a girl, ends up to have a very thin uterus when she grows up.
Light spotting during pregnancy can be normal, especially in the beginning during implantation. Many people will also experience spotting after intercourse and/or after a vaginal exam.
However, an actual period - especially a heavy one - with all the symptoms you're discribing [while pregnant - whether you know or not] would be a significant indication of a miscarriage. Many people don't even know they're pregnant when they miscarry. And, don't let that discourage you - there are soooo many people that miscarry and don't even realize it - that doesn't mean you can't get pregnant, nor does it mean you will have an abnormal pregnancy.
I had my period the first four months I was pregnant. Although my pregnancy was planned they took blood and told me it was negative. But when I started my boobs hurt so bad I knew something was up. So I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. I also have a friend that just had a baby and they told her she was not pregnant until almost four months into it. Good luck.
One of three things could be going on...
1. You are not prego and you had a little virus, or like you thought stress, and had your reg period
2. You are prego...you can still have a little period sometimes...I have know two friends that still bled the first 3 months of pregnancy
3. You were prego and had a miscarriage and that is why you felt bad right before your period and why you hare having a really bad one now. This happens to 1 in 4 women. Many women don't even don't they were prego and just chalked it up as a heavy period month with bad cramps. The only way to confirm this is blood work at your dr.
Hope everything turns out the way you want.
