I have heard that it is possible to be pregnant and still have a period of sorts at the beginning. Has anyone ever had that happen, and if so, what was that period like. You can usualy set a clock by my periods but this last one, while it was on time, was very short and not nearly as heavy as usual. or if anyone has any other ideas about what might cause that, it might be helpful.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

just a change in your life style may cause this to happen. but pregnancy is normally a thing to check for. i would wait about a week after the period ended and take a test if that doesnot come out positive and you dont think you life style has changed enough to cause this see your doctor.

Hi I had my period with both my pregnancys....They were short and a low flow usually a day or two. And if your not sure if you are pregnant you might want to see the family doctor because stress or there are so many things that can affect your perods that you might not want to take a chance. I have endometriosis..Which is simply ovarian cysts. They are not life threatening or anything but they can mess with hormones and such... Hope I was of some help to you,,,Good luck

I had a light period at the beginning of my pregnancies with my boys but not my daughter. If you are pregnant, recalculate your conception date too cuz that'll mean the baby could be as much as 2-4 weeks earlier then going by this period. Just keep that in the back of your mind.
Congratulations if you are pregnant and God's Blessings.

As we get older, our periods changes, sometimes for the better, sometimes not. Having a baby too, helps these changes along. Now Im not saying that you cant be pregnant, however I have had periods like that from time to time, when I am usually have a heavy, 7 day period. For me, I was 28 days to the sec before I went on the pill, before we had our first kid, then after I went off, it went every 34 days or longer. Now I have either 28 or 34 days. lol Its still heavy, usually. It really does depend on how you feel, stress out, or relax. lol I have had a period when I was pregnant with my third baby. I thought I was miscarrying, since I had already knew that I was pregnant. Luckily for me, she hung on and I have a wonderful little girl to show for it. My mom had 2 or 3 periods during her pregnancy with me and I am going to 34 this year. If you suspect that you are pregnant, then when its all over, get a test and found out. Good Luck!

I bled with my last one and when I brought it to my doctor's attention she freaked out. She said that it is not ok. I should have called them right away. I am also RH negative so I always have to get that shot in the butt for it. With being RH negative she was really concerned. She also said that it is an old wives tale.

I had a period the first month I was pregnant. It might have been a little lighter than usual, but since I am in my 40's and my periods have changed some, and was on birth control, I didn't get concerned until the next period was late. (Thankfully, all turned out well in spite of being on birth control for a month during pregnancy.)

Seems like it is always a very good idea check for pregnancy if you think something is a bit off.

Hi, J.! I've had several friends who've had light periods in the beginning of their pregnancies. Also, as a nursing student, we've learned it's pretty normal. Have a great pregnancy if that's what it is!!!
