Pet Vet and Boarding

A two-fold question:
1. My dog needs his vaccinations updated. We've used Banfield at Petsmart previously, but I am usually made to feel like a bad owner and pressured to have his teeth professionally cleaned, become a part of their "Wellness Program" and spend excessive money on my pet's wellness.

I'd like to find a vet that is caring and thorough, without all of the commercializing. And someone who recognizes that brushing my dog's teeth daily may not be practical on most days.

2. My entire famliy is taking a vacation at the end of the month, and it looks like we will need to board the dog for about a week. I have never boarded him and am a little nervous about doing so. What places in our area are reputable and provide lots of TLC?

I live in the HEB area.

Thanks in advance!

I highly recommend Creature Comfort Animal Clinic in South Arlington (its worth the drive!) I previously worked there for 11 years as a vet tech, the doctors are wonderful! Go and visit the kennels/indoor runs they are always clean and smell great! They have a person that lives in the clinic (he has an apartment on the facility!)....fyi if a place will not let you back in the kennel area don't board your pet there! They are a full service clinic....boarding, state of art vet care, grooming and most importantly wonderful staff and doctors!! Good luck! The number is ###-###-#### and the website is www.creaturecomfort.vetsuite.com

i hate banfield and am having a problem with them right now. they are major con artists at "upselling". we used them because i liked the fact that i could drop my dog off but i now wish i had taken the time to take her to our regular vet. anyway we use richland hills animal clinic on hwy 26. they are very "old school" and seem to know what they are doing. now if you want to drive to irving (183/o'connor or macarthur) my sister uses a vet who she loves so much she would drop her dog off just for the day so it wouldn't be lonely! we've also used them in the past for boarding. if you email me i'll get the name and number but can't remember it right now. oh what about petorama on harwood? do they do that?? good luck.

Arkansas Kane Animal Hospital in Arlington is wonderful. We have a great dane puppy and he is not completely done with his shots and they took him when we went out of town at the start of June. They took very good care of our dog and the price was very reasonable at 18$ a day but they give a 20% discount so after the discount it works out to 14.56 a day. Their phone number is ###-###-#### it is about a 20 minute drive from HEB but it is well worth it and they will get him updated on his shots too. I hope this helps.
